It might be that time of year again where you’re all whizzing off to festivals, but there’s plenty of reasons to stay in Notts, and we’ll give you three!

First up on Thursday (4th) I’m Not From London brings you the Wire And Wool free mini fest at The Alleycafe.

Get ready for some party hip hop with JUST JAMES guaranteeing to bring the dance side of you out.

Carrying on the hip hop vibes THE AFTERDARK MOVEMENT will be hitting you hard with their eclectic sounds of funk, acoustic and rap.

Next, The Future Sound of Nottingham‘s runner up TASTEBUDS will provide some Rock Folk Pop (or ‘Fock Rolk’ as they call it).

NIGHTMARE ARCADE consist of singer Angie’s alter egos, Johnny Reaper and Aimee. Her songs are based on dreams and her two characters, prepare for something unique.

Rapper JERMAINE BREWSKI brings rhymes of love, family and study. With lots of happy, upbeat melodies you’ll have no choice but to bopp along.

Four-piece band RATBITER will play some dark and grungy tunes that promise to be heavy.

CURTIS WHITEFINGER a singer/songwriter has released FIVE albums and doesn’t look about to stop anytime soon. Often said to be the Nottingham version of Bob Dylan come down and listen for yourself.

And PAUL WALKER will play some short sharp songs from the heart.

Next on Saturday (6th) Acoustickle will be having their summer party at The Bodega Social Club.

KALUTSKI will be spinning some dubby, electric beats featuring the magnificent KIRK SPENCER, Radio One’s man of the moment.

Next LIAM O’KANE (of JIMMY THE SQUIRREL) and JODY BETTS (of ROYAL GALA) will be doubling up to bring your way some acoustic folk.

CRS‘s very own LEE GOUGH will wow audiences with his powerful voice. And if that won’t persuade ya, maybe the fact he’s been played on BBC Radio with Dean Jackson will.

Sweet and jazzy ELENA HARGREEVES won’t disappoint. Word on the street is she’s even played Pizza Express! Music and pizza – what’s not to love?!

The talented EMILY FRANKLIN will play hip hop-influenced blues.

And three-piece band HIJACK STORM will hijack your minds with some ‘electric acoustic’ (yes, we’re confused too).

And finally THAT SUNDAY FEELING will be headlining their own show at Rock City as part of their UK tour on Saturday (6th).

With more than 12,000 fans (ahem, groupies) on Facebook and them ending two weeks on the road, at arguably our biggest venue, how can you refuse?
