Hello Comrades,

Have we got a great line-up of Notts artists for you this week!

First up we have DOT TO DOT FESTIVAL featuring more Notts musicians than ever before! History has been made people.

Taking place at Rock City, The Pulse, The Bodega, The Rescue Rooms and Stealth on Sunday (29th) this is one event you do not want to miss!

If you’ve not seen SWIMMING before then where have you been for the last year?! These guys have already made their mark on the Great Country and are continuing to do so across the country. Check out their totally addictive Pop/Surf sound and get ready to be wow-ed.

Next, another flipping amazing band LONG DEAD SIGNAL will storm to the stage and leave no prisoners. These are not just empty words, incase you were wondering, YOU guys voted them the Future Sound of Nottingham last year! And rightly so.

Another amazing band (okay, so they’re all amazing but we just can’t reiterate this enough) FRONTIERS will get you rocking out to their Alternative/Indie sound which has a very mature and catchy sound to it. We can visualise these guys selling out headline shows in years to come.

A complete contrast to any other Nottingham bands on the bill, BABY GODZILLA will come at you full throttle with their Hardcore, and er Disco House? sounds… (their words not ours) and get you all up in a moshpit. Don’t say we didn’t warn you! These guys put on the craziest show in town, and you WOULD be crazy not to miss it!

Next SPOTLIGHT KID will play some gentle Rock with beautiful vocals and harmonies used throughout. Melodic guitars and songs that are good enough to be anthems will fill the room. My boss loves this band!

We hope you save a lot of energy, because boy will you need it, for ROYAL GALA. One of the biggest party bands to emerge from Nottingham they produce Latin, Breakbeat and a whole host of genres played by a live band and fronted by sex goddess Lou Barnell. Call it your weekly workout because you won’t be able to move properly for weeks after. Keep your eyes peeled for the Royal Gala Fitness DVD out next Christmas.

How to describe RONIKA? An 80s diva reminiscent of Madonna but BETTER in our opinion! Truly amazing voice and some of the funkiest, grooviest beats you will ever hear. Not to mention one of the best dressed musicians in the whole of the Notts. Make sure you catch her set but prepare to have her songs stuck in your head for days and weeks and maybe even forever.

WILL JEFFREY is a fine Notts singer/songwriter producing quality Folk/Acoustic songs all brought together by his beautiful, storytelling vocals. You’ll be mesmorised as you listen to his inviting tales. He also does the best cover of any Nottingham musician…

And finally YUNIOSHI have a really unique, Experimental sound with Electro, Rock, Indie and all sorts thrown into the mixture, but it works so well. Get ready for a good rave/skank/mosh as all the genres hit you at once.

Doors: 1.45pm
Tickets: £30 from http://www.alt-tickets.co.uk/alttickets/home_dot_to_dot_2011.html

Next, Crocus Acoustic Thursday brings you BECK STACEY at Crocus Cafe on Thursday (26th).

BECK STACEY will play an eclectic mix of Goth and Acoustic with her own experimental style. Something very different but exciting to hear such diversity. Very Kate Bush!

Doors: 7pm
Tickets: FREE!

And finally THE CHASE will be playing at The Moot Hall on Saturday (28th).

THE CHASE a very young but very cool Indie/Rock n Roll band will produce riffs you didn’t know were possible for lads still at school. Totally nailed it at the CRS Showcase event back in October, defo ones to watch for the future!

Doors: 8pm

Yours in love of New Music,

Liz
