A up Comrades! We’ve got yet another wicked line up for you this week, starting with…

BANDS IN THE SANDS 2011 at Nottingham Arts Theatre on Wednesday 23rd Nov.

The annual Battle of the Bands competition is back to offer young bands from Nottingham the chance to win gigs, CD Vouchers and studio time. This is an opportunity to see some of the potential huge bands of tomorrow performing in an intimate venue.

Expect to hear original music and covers from some of Nottingham’s most exciting bands.

Previous champions of the competition, GREAT BRITISH WEATHER will treat the punters to some indie dance fun mayhem on the night whilst the judges make up their minds. Check out our Future Session with them here.

Doors: 7pm
Tickets: £3.

ACOUSTICKLE at The Alley Cafe on the 24th of November.

We have performances to look forward to from Charlotte Carpenter and PP Dog before we are spoiled with some of Nottingham’s finest acoustic acts.

GAZ RASCAL of the reggae, ska-fuelled outfit Breadchasers is on next. His political punk passion intertwined with gravelly vocals make this guy an endearing solo artist. Fans of The Skints will enjoy.

Finally we have ADAM PETER SMITH. Adam’s busker vibes and incredible vocal range create an acoustic sound that is ridiculously chilled. Check out our Future Session with him here.

Doors: 7:30pm
Tickets: FREE

SWIMMING at Nottingham Contemporary on the 25th November.

SWIMMING celebrate the launch of their critically acclaimed new album “Ecstatics International” in Nottingham on Friday.

If you haven’t heard SWIMMING before then oh-my-god you should. Proudly occupying our Artist of the Month spot for November, SWIMMING are a fluid fusion of psychedelic, indie, futuristic pop.

Also playing are MOSCOW YOUTH CULT, another one of Nottingham’s musical babies. Check these out for even more electronic goodness.

Doors: 8pm
Tickets: FREE

Yours In Love Of New Music,
Danielle & Tom
