Merry Christmas month Comrades!

Our top 3 gigs last week were incredibly good fun but this week is looking just as exciting!

First up we have HARLIKINGS supporting THE ORDINARY BOYS at ROCK CITY on 7th December.

This is a must see gig! HARLIKINGS supporting THE ORDINARY BOYS on their first tour in five years. You’ll obviously already be in love with HARLIKINGS, after their spectacular performance on our future sessions (if you haven’t already seen it, check it out right here, right now!).

The only way I can describe the HARLIKINGS sound: sounds like good times! Tunes to make memories too. THE ORDINARY BOYS have a tough set to follow. As fun as THE ORDINARY BOYS’ set is likely to be…don’t be surprised if HARLIKINGS steal the show!

DOORS: 7pm
TICKETS: £12 or £7 on the cheaplist.

For the second week running we have a choice of two gigs on the same night! So unless you can clone yourself between now and then make sure you choose wisely on how to spend your thursday evening.

TIMESTEALERS, THE FADE, THE BYSTANDERS, NIGHTMARE ARCADE at THE MAZE on the 8th December.

Opening the night are NIGHTMARE ARCADE followed by THE BYSTANDERS whose alternative, indie/rock vibe are a vibrant addition to the Nottingham music scene. You’d be foolish to miss them, check out our Future Session here…and then go watch them live!

Next up is one of the most exciting bands in Nottingham at the moment, THE FADE. Their brand of bluesy rock has a raw, made-in-a-garage feel to it which when experienced live is intensely good. The bands interests include “drinking whiskey and abusing instruments”, sounds like a lot of fun.

To end the night we have the TIMESTEALERS, which are one of the most unique bands you are likely to find. Down to earth lyrics over a latin pop sound that smells like gypsy spirit. Fans of GOGOL BORDELLO will love TIMESTEALERS. Get ready for unintended awkwardness on stage and hilarious dancing.

DOORS: 7.30pm
TICKETS: £3

Your other option for a wicked thursday night…

TIMOTHY J SIMPSON 2nd Album Launch – “You’d be alright in Florida” at THE BODEGA on the 8th of December.

WILL JEFFREY AND THE WILD GENTRY deliciously rustic delivery is sweetened by a gravelly voice you WILL fall in love with. There’s rhythm and charm and it’s all a little bit sexy. Self-described as “beautifully shambolic smoky folk”, we couldn’t have said it better. Dare you to try and take your ears off him. Also supporting is JONNY NEESON, featuring in TIMOTHY J SIMPSON’S track ‘The Viewpoints on the Working Week’. And the album we’ve been itching to hear – “You’d be alright in Florida”.

Prepare to be wowed. TIMOTHY J SIMPSON’S second album, a faultless follow up to the ‘Our Glorious Hero Battles the Man’ is a deep soulful folk and upbeat indie medley and will excite the most diverse of audiences. Check him out while he’s still in the local scene also give this weeks podcast a listen for the track, “The Bunker Song.”
