A up Comrades!

This week is HUGE! We’ve got 3 amazing gigs that you just cannot miss.

The week kicks off on Monday with the ACOUSTIC ROOMS RELAUNCH at Rescue Rooms.

LARRY LUPTON will get the night started with his enchanting melodies and distinctive voice. Prepare to be humming his tunes for the rest of the night.

Next up is WINTER AND SUMMER. She mixes witty lyrics with gentle music and belts out a voice powerful enough to demolish the newly refurbished Rescue Rooms. We’re looking forward to seeing her once again.

The ever-so-talented SAINT RAYMOND are on next and they are hot. Not just because they are pretty, but because they make music that is so current, so ‘now’, that no one can deny the fact that they are going places. Don’t miss these.

JOE SLATER will follow up next. Expect shouty, angry folk from a lovely, down-to-earth guy. He sings about politics, booze and women and he never fails to make a tough crowd laugh.

LOUIS SCOTT is next on the bill. He’s a popular one with the ladies because of his undoubted charisma, his unique way of strumming and his romantic lyrics – but sorry girls, hes taken!

JUST JAMES will entertain us next with their dancey, party vibes. A six-piece band who get twelve thumbs up from us (get it?!)

Headlining this awesome night are our FSN finalists TASTEBUDS. They’ve got catchy beats, amazing hats and a stunning dose of girl power on Keys. Their set will be the perfect ending to a great Notts gig.

Tickets: FREE!
Doors: 7.30pm

Our next recommended gig is once again at the Rescue Rooms for WILL JEFFREY and KAPPA GAMMA supporting some band called Big Deal.

Big deal or not we’re more interested about the Notts artists! KAPPA GAMMA will make those hairs on the back of your neck stand up when they start looping their tingly riffs. They’ve got slick hair and even slicker songs. Definitely check these out.

Storyteller WILL JEFFREY is up next with his gravelly voice and diverse tunes. His set suits anyone whether you’re into love songs, folk music or jazz.

Tickets: £6
Doors: 7pm

Our final Top 3 gig is Headstock Festival from 9th – 11th September.

Looooaddds of Notts artists are playing this so it is definitely worth the trip up the road to the Newstead and Annesley Country Park.

THE PETEBOX is one of the Notts acts for this festival. If you haven’t seen him before, you’re missing out. He is known worldwide for his amazing beatbox skills, he even won the title of Radio 1’s Beatbox Champion. If you’re heading to Headstock this weekend, make sure you catch him!
ROYAL GALA
25 PAST THE SKANK
HARLEIGHBLU will also be playing this Notts-tastic fest. I can’t get enough of this girl right now. She’s full of soul, groove and attitude and her voice is so distinctly good.
SWIMMING
DELTA SUN
JIMMY THE SQUIRREL – I know what you’re all thinking – where the hell was summer this year? Fear not, these guys are THE sound of summer, taking you far away to warm beaches and blazing sun, they’ll warm you right up.
SAINT RAYMOND
THE MONEY – Our Future Sound of Nottingham competition winners who played the main stage at Splendour Festival and did us proud. Check out their catchy pop/rock hooks and sexy band members.
MANIERE DES BOHEMIENS – A different band. Different in a good way! From slow, mellow and beautiful to fast, punchy and catchy there’s something for everyone. Check out their latest session with Poddingham at Confetti HERE.
RONIKA – Arguably Nottingham’s best female artist! Mixing pop and electro with plenty of quirky beats and reasons to get out your seat you’d be MAD to miss her. NME can’t stop talking about her, The Guardian keep singing her praises, so it’s about time you give her a listen if you haven’t already before the rest of the world catch on (which is to be very soon).
GALLERY 47 – This adorable Nottingham singer/songwriter writes songs so lovely you’ll be frozen to your spot in awe. He played the BBC Introducing Stage at T In The Park and here at the Nusic HQ we know there’s so much more to come for him.
