Another seven days pass and we’ve got an incredible lineup of gigs on the Nottingham music scene. This week sees a huge collaborative event, an awesome festival, and the return of some Celtic Rockers to the Rescue Rooms!

GIG ONE

This Friday, Farmyard are putting on rather a special show at Nottingham Contemporary. NATALIE DUNCAN & Friends, sees some of the brightest and most vibrant acts from Nottingham, all come together alongside show-stopping string sections and stunning choirs.

NATALIE DUNCAN is an incredibly soulful musician. A raw talent, and one of the most incredible voices that you will ever hear. Having been two years since the release of her debut album “Devil In Me”, this is an exciting opportunity to hear her new material, and see some exclusive, and rather bloody exciting collaborations.

We have been informed that on the night you can expect to hear Soul Pop queen NINA SMITH with her captivating angelic voice, Hip Hop extraordinaire and Don’t Flop Battler YOUTHORACLE and the hugely talented CHRIS MCDONALD bringing the Soulful Folk. Also collaborating is the melodramatic magnificence of ED BANNARD from HHYMN and the beautifully compelling sounds of CECILLE GREY. You can even catch Electronic Reggae Dub group ORIGIN ONE bringing their ‘deeper than roots’ vibes and ROB GREEN – the man dubbed the ‘soul prince of Nottingham’. Plus some heavenly performances from the G.O.A CHOIR, and the nostalgic sounds of the QM BARBERSHOP QUARTET who will dazzle you with their Beach Boys medleys and four-part harmonies!

… And if thats not enough for ya then there are even more exclusive tracks to be heard written by other local cool cats who are unavailable to do the show. The beautiful Folky sounds of GALLERY 47 will be warming you up before the main event kicks off, and we’re sure he’ll set the tone just right.

This is gonna be pretty special.

GIG TWO

This Saturday sees Orangefest return to The Orange Tree, which means you can expect a day rammed full with incredible live music, in association with I’m Not From London.

Kicking things off we have the beautiful Joni-Mitchell-esque Folk sounds of ANWYN WILLIAMS who knows her way around a touching story. Following we’ll have those rowdy fellas in CITY OF KITES, who blend together Blues, Punk, Folk and Post-Hardcore into a delectable concoction of sounds, all before THE BREAKFAST CLUB bring some hilarious uplifting Pop to the proceedings.

THREE GIRL RHUMBA will bring some of their electric Jangly, Gospel styley Rock which is bound to have you shaking everything your mama gave ya, before THE DAMN HEAVY bring some proper rowdy Blues. HOUSE OF THIEVES are up next with some ridiculously catchy Indie sounds, and if your brain can handle anymore infectious melodies, you’re gonna love BIG RHINO who turn some of the most brilliant lyrics (“let’s go, to Tesco”) into super slick hooks.

Rounding the day off we have the epic three piece that are DEAF BRIDGES. With their own unique genre of “Danger-Pop”, these fellas put on HUGE enthusiastic performances, that we’re sure will have the crowd going mental. Air punches mandatory.

GIG THREE

This Saturday sees FEROCIOUS DOG as they tear up the Rescue Rooms yet again, with their aggressively feel-good tunes. Their eclectic mash-up of Folk, Ska and Punk is quite unlike anything we’ve ever heard, and if you wanna get a little crazy, these guys will provide the perfect soundtrack. Take all the traditional elements and instruments of Celtic Folk, but spruce it all up with a bit of ‘Raw, Buzz Saw Rock n’ Roll attitude’, and you have FEROCIOUS DOG. An incredible live show, don’t miss out!
