Summer really is in full swing yano. But instead of sodding off on holiday, Notts musicians are putting the graft in, cos yet again there’s bloody loads of quality gigs on. And this week, it’s particularly heart-warming. Here’s what we reckon you should get yer pretty face down to.
FRIDAY
This past few months, bloody loads of Notts musicians have been coming together to craft a charity single – ‘Back on My Feet’, all in aid of Notts homeless charities. Led by local hero Cibele, she’s brought 38 musicians together to feature on the record. Now, how the heck they’re all gonna fit on that Bodega stage we don’t know (it’ll be… cosy), but what we do know is 100% of profits and royalties go to Framework and Emmanuel House, there’s gonna be a bunch of musical surprises, and, let’s face it – it’s gonna be well special. FRIDAY
In 2016, you may have seen a bunch of Notts humans dominate the BBC Proms. They were / are the ABLE ORCHESTRA, a collective of disabled and non-disabled young people from Fountaindale School and Outwood Academy Portland. Collectively, they create this stunning orchestral electronic music, and pair it with some beaut visuals too. This Friday, they’re taking over Nottingham Contemporary’s ‘Space’ venue, for what we’re sure will be a very touching evening. Pssst, tickets must be reserved in advance though.

SATURDAY
Over a hundred local musicians. Playing in Kimberley. All for charity. Boomtingaling. This Saturday The Kimberley Jam returns bringing all those things we just said. This year they’re raising money for the Kimberley Scouting & Girl Guiding, and Kimberley Miners Welfare Youth Football Club. Get ahht of the city centre, grab a bevvy, and have some fun.
