Hello Comrades, if you are after your weekly dose of gigs then you have come to the right place! Last week’s ones were insane, including JUST JAMES absolutely smashing it at THE MAZE.

GIG ONE

DAVE MCPHERSON “Love Rats Tour” @ THE MAZE on Monday 23rd of January. Featuring ILLUMINATUS, PATCHWORK GRACE, THE BARNUM MESERVE, GEORGE GADD.

Main support comes from ILLUMINATUS. This lot create a powerful, atmospheric wall of noise that is soaked in serious metal.  Heavy stuff, get involved in the mosh pits!

PATCHWORK GRACE’s souped up quirky rock sound itches with energy that will get even the most reluctant punters on the dancefloor and THE BARNUM MESERVE’s dark, theatrical piano ballads with screaming vocals will blow your mind to a million pieces.

GEORGE GADD will kick off the night with his self described “self loathing DIY acoustic folk under a prentiously exotic psuedonym”. Confused? Go check him out, you won’t be disapointed.

Upstairs there will be performances from BURY THE LADYBIRD, SINNERS HIGHWAY, RED BEAR, PAPER CAPE and CHASING DAKOTA.

DOORS: 7PM
TICKETS:  £6 or £4 adv

GIG TWO

HOT SAUCE with SUBSTANCE at THE MAZE featuring JUST JAMES on Friday the 27th of January.

This line up is hotter than satan’s personal vindaloo recipe! JUST JAMES will melt THE MAZE for the second friday night in a row amongst a host of big name DnB and junglist DJs.

We are predicting mammoth things for JUST JAMES in 2012 after they were recently signed to Sound-Hub. You won’t see a crazier party band around with their manic dance hype and the lightning lips of MOTORMOUF. Intense, insane and incredible live. This could be a late one.

DOORS: 22:00 – 04:00
TICKETS: TBC

GIG THREE

bUTTONpUSHER presents… EVENT HORSES, LIBERATION PACT, BLACK INTERNATIONAL and RATBITER @ THE CHAMELEON on Saturday 28th of January.

Amongst EVENT HORSES and BLACK INTERNATIONAL are two ridiculously good homegrown bands in the form of LIBERATION PACT and RATBITER.

LIBERATION PACT aren’t just another rock band. This lot create a noise that is somehow pained with nostalgia but also instantly agrees with the ears in a feel good way. Superb musicians with an uncanny ability to write incredible music.

RATBITER’S loud stoner rock sound will smother THE CHAMELEON in filthy noise. Listen out for the brutal riffs in “Corkscrew.”

DOORS: 8pm
TICKETS:£4 or £3 NUS

Yours in Love of New Music,
Tom Hadfield x
