With influences from across the globe, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/SabarSoundSystem?directed_target_id=0\">SABAR SOUNDSYSTEM<\/a><\/strong> are fresh, original &#038; completely unique.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"www.myspace.com\/haikiloki\">HAIKI LOKI<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nHailing from Ethiopia &#038; calling Notts her home, <strong><a href=\"www.myspace.com\/haikiloki\">HAIKI LOKI<\/a><\/strong> is a hidden gem of the Notts music scene. A self-taught singer\/song-writer, her edgy brand of Soul takes influences from numerous cultural and musical experiences and makes for something totally refreshing.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nAlso on the night will be Chinese virtuoso string player <strong>Ling Peng<\/strong>,  mesmerizing beats from <strong>Biant Singh<\/strong> on tabla plus <strong>Sura Susso<\/strong>, an enchanting Kora (African harp) player from the Gambia.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nAnd then there is the night&#8217;s show piece event &#8211; PENTATRONIX. A specially commissioned collaborative work between <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/SabarSoundSystem?directed_target_id=0\">SABAR SOUNDSYSTEM<\/a><\/strong>, <strong>Ling Peng<\/strong> and producer <strong>Si Tew<\/strong>. Promising a day filled with music, merriment &#038; jerk chicken. We were sold at merriment, the chicken sealed the deal.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/fists.bandcamp.com\/\">FISTS<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nAs their name suggests, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/fists.bandcamp.com\/\">FISTS<\/a><\/strong> deliver one hell of a punch (sorry couldn&#8217;t resist). Get ready to do some serious air-punching as their infectious anthems &#038; bucket loads of energy make each performance a blissfully intense experience. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/fists.bandcamp.com\/\">FISTS<\/a><\/strong> are sure to satisfy your cravings! Be they music or chicken based.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/kogumaza.bandcamp.com\/\">KOGUMAZA<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nA unique blend of psychedelic garage-rock with more soothing elements, eclectic three-piece <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/kogumaza.bandcamp.com\/\">KOGUMAZA<\/a><\/strong> bring their woven tapestry of musical genres to the day. A band whose members have previously played in bands such as <strong>WOLVES OF GREECE &#038; SAVOY GRAND<\/strong>, this experience is sure to add some serious colour to their performance.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/cantaloupe.bandcamp.com\/\">CANTALOUPE<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nHaving secured plays on XFM &#038; Radio 1 in the past couple of months, things are really picking up for <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/cantaloupe.bandcamp.com\/\">CANTALOUPE<\/a><\/strong>. Like the hosts they are signed to local label <strong><a href=\"hellothor.com\">Hello Thor<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/cantaloupe.bandcamp.com\/\">CANTALOUPE<\/a><\/strong> effortlessly fuse together synthy elements of afrobeat and disco that are sure to add a certain je ne sais quoi to proceedings.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nAlso playing are other local favourites such as <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/KagouleUK\">KAGOULE <\/a><\/strong>and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Bus-Stop-Madonnas\">BUS STOP MADONNAS<\/a><\/strong>.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nPRICE: \u00a37 adv, \u00a310 otd.<br \/>\nDOORS: 1pm<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong>GIG THREE<\/strong><br \/>\n<br \/>\nA bittersweet event as we bid a very reluctant farewell (sob) to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/373865419391001\/\">Sounddhism<\/a><\/strong>. It\u2019s curtain call for Nottingham\u2019s leading Soul night and they\u2019re sending it off in style this <strong>Saturday<\/strong> (kinda, rumours already abound of an encore, one final fling, some time in August).<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/IamGeorgieRose\">GEORIGE ROSE BAND<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nWe\u2019ve fallen in love with <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/IamGeorgieRose\">GEORIGE ROSE<\/a><\/strong> solo, but she is stepping it up for this event &#038; bringing along her whole band. Beautifully crafted Acoustic Folk, her silky vocals and haunting performances are utterly captivating &#038; it seems the rest of the UK are catching up with Notts and falling under Georgie\u2019s spell. Ridiculously talented, catch our<strong> Future Session<\/strong> with Georgie last year<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nusic.org.uk\/wordpress\/future-session-18-48-%E2%80%93-georgie-rose\/\">HERE<\/a><\/strong>.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/shelterpointmusic\/info\">SHELTER POINT<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nTwo-piece <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/shelterpointmusic\/info\">SHELTER POINT<\/a><\/strong> mix electronic music &#038; lush vocals to make something innovative &#038; addictive. Having played this year\u2019s <strong>Dot to Dot<\/strong>, these guys are turning more &#038; more heads with their synthy electro sounds akin to <strong>The XX<\/strong>. Gorgeous, celestial &#038; well worth a watch.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n*Unfortunately <strong><a href=\"soundcloud.com\/nadia-latoya\">NADIA LATOYA<\/a><\/strong> has had to pull out of this event.*<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Georgia-Copeland\/544387005581523?id=544387005581523&#038;sk=info\">GEORGIA COPELAND<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nFilling in for <strong><a href=\"soundcloud.com\/nadia-latoya\">NADIA LATOYA<\/a><\/strong> is the equally talented <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Georgia-Copeland\/544387005581523?id=544387005581523&#038;sk=info\">GEORGIA COPELAND<\/a><\/strong>.
