It\u2019s pretty much the weekend so treat yourself.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/LeahSineadUK?fref=ts\">LEAH SINEAD<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nWith one of the most beautifully enchanting vocals on the Notts Folk scene, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/LeahSineadUK?fref=ts\">LEAH SINEAD<\/a><\/strong> has well and truly established herself as one of our favourite Folk darlings. Taking influence from the greats of Joni Mitchell et al, Leah brings this bang up to date in a set sure to melt the hardest of hearts.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Aaron-Smith\/169324426438364?fref=ts\">AARON SMITH<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nSongsmith <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Aaron-Smith\/169324426438364?fref=ts\">AARON SMITH<\/a><\/strong> is also on the bill. Bluesy acoustic folk meets intimate lyrics that is an irresistible prospect on a warm (well, hopefully) summers evening. Have a listen to personal favourite \u2018<em>Just For You\u2019<\/em> if you need further persuasion, and keep an eye out for his debut ep out this autumn.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/RobynHughesJones?fref=ts\">ROBYN HUGHES-JONES<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nBringing bucket loads of loveliness &amp; an acoustic guitar, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/RobynHughesJones?fref=ts\">ROBYN HUGHES-JONES<\/a> <\/strong>is the next act to win our hearts. Her gorgeous vocals have a soulful edge that makes her all the more endearing &#8211; imagine a cross of <strong>Norah Jones<\/strong> and <strong>Gabrielle Aplin<\/strong> and you\u2019re getting warm.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/94Gunships?fref=ts\">94 GUNSHIPS<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nIs it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it\u2019s <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/94Gunships?fref=ts\">94 GUNSHIPS<\/a><\/strong>, Nottingham\u2019s very own supergroup! With of the most well-known faces and voices packed into one group, it\u2019s no surprise that this group are gaining more and more attention by the day. With some of the gruffest, grittiest Blues on the Notts scene, do not deny yourself the pleasure of <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/94Gunships?fref=ts\">94 GUNSHIPS<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Alt-Pop duo <strong>Molly &amp; Jack<\/strong> from Lincoln complete the lineup.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>PRICE: FREE<br \/>\nDOORS: 7pm<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>GIG TWO<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/398909786880660\/?ref=2&amp;suggestsessionid=64bf082fcb8f2298878f1a55e8426883\"><strong>A PLASTIC ROSE<\/strong> <\/a>are hosting a party this <strong>Thursday<\/strong> and you&#8217;re all invited! Hailing from Belfast, the band have relocated to Robin Hood land and are taking over Nottingham&#8217;s most unique venue <strong>JT Soar <\/strong>to celebrate.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The band have already notched up several plays on a little station called Radio 1 with their single &#8216;<em>Kids Don&#8217;t Behave Like This&#8217;<\/em> . The\u00a0choruses are big, the vocals are fragile and the whole package is epic &#8211;\u00a0Angsty Pop-Rock that&#8217;s alight with Post-Grunge touches. They recently wrote a letter to the whole of Nottingham promising they&#8217;re not shite (which you can read <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/musicnottingham.com\/2013\/08\/07\/we-promise-were-not-shite-a-plastic-rose-write-an-open-letter-to-the-people-of-nottingham\/\">here<\/a><\/strong>) and you know what? The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.redbull.com\/uk\/en\/music\/stories\/1331601473603\/rbma-nottingham-carnival-lineup-announced\"><strong>Red Bull Music Academy<\/strong> <\/a>Carnival returns to Nottingham this weekend with two whole days of fun &amp; frivolity that&#8217;s completely free.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Taking place over Saturday \u00a0&amp; Sunday, The Forest Recreation Ground will be transformed by culinary delights, colourful costumes and cheering crowds as the Nottingham Caribbean Carnival takes over. As always, there will be a whole host of live music throughout the weekend including soca, samba and reggae music as well as some epic sets courtesy of our comrades at <strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theelementz.co.uk\">THE ELEMENTZ<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The event is a fantastic celebration of Nottingham&#8217;s thriving creative scene, particularly the Red Bull Music Academy shizzle going down on Saturday arvo and eve. There will be stalls and sets from <strong>Rubberdub &amp; Mimm <\/strong>as well as\u00a0city\u2019s leading young designers and artists from\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nottinghamcontemporary.org\/event\/nottingham-creative-culture-collaboration\" target=\"_blank\">Creative Culture<\/a><\/strong> and<strong> Notts Property. <\/strong>This will all be taking place alongside huge media coverage &amp; hugh headliners in the form of <strong>Ms Dynamite<\/strong> and <strong>Marcia Griffiths <\/strong>making it a mahossive event for Nottingham culture. Whilst we know that &#8211; as the focus is not necessarily on live, local music &#8211; this is not a typical &#8216;Nusic&#8217; gig, \u00a0the caliber of the weekend as well as the light it will shine on the Notts creative scene makes it worthy of inclusion in the top three.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Why not get in the mood for the big weekend by listening to our latest Carnival themed <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nusic.org.uk\/wordpress\/category\/podcasts\/\">Podcast<\/a><\/strong>?!
