Happy New Year! It’s 2014, and we’re back to tell you the Top Three<\/a><\/strong> gigs going off in Notts this week! If you’re looking for more great local talent, make sure to check out our regular New Music Podcasts<\/a><\/strong> and Future Sessions<\/a><\/strong>!<\/p>\n

GIG ONE<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Kicking off our Top Three<\/a><\/strong> we have a cracking lineup at The Maze<\/a><\/strong>, thanks to Notts In A Nutshell<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Up first we have the acoustic singer-songwriter vibes of CONNOR SPRAY<\/a><\/strong>. Think Oasis<\/strong>, add some rock & roll sensibility, and you\u2019ll have an idea of what to expect. Then we\u2019ll have the insatiable, sleazy Blues Rock of FRANKIUM<\/a><\/strong>. Next up we\u2019ll have the four-piece Punk Rockers that are A PERFECT LIE<\/a><\/strong>, who will be bringing the house down with their in your face Punk energy.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Supercara<\/strong> will then be performing. Before the retro Rock & Roll pop of THE RASCELS<\/a><\/strong> rounds off the night. Beautiful harmonies, mixed with catchy choruses. What more could you ask for?<\/p>\n

GIG TWO<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Next up we have a brilliant lineup of local talent over at Jam Cafe<\/a><\/strong> on Friday.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

First up we have some big festival esque Folk Pop from the boys in CADETS<\/a><\/strong>. An explosion of Indie anthems await you, which are bound to get you moving and grooving. Next up we have the Ambient Post-Rock of FIELD STUDIES<\/a><\/strong>. Despite being new to the gigging scene, they have an incredibly refined sound, and are well worth checking out. Finally, finishing off the night we have the beautiful sounds of PAPER PLANE CRASH<\/a><\/strong>. Imaginative lyrics mixed with some sweet rhythm, these guys always put on a great show!<\/p>\n

GIG THREE<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Finishing our Top Three<\/a> <\/strong>this week, we\u2019ve got our second gig at The Maze<\/a><\/strong>. This Saturday brings together five great Nottingham bands for your listening pleasure!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We\u2019ve got some familiar Folk from the boys in CADETS<\/a><\/strong>, before four piece THE SHERWINS<\/a><\/strong> bring their unique brand of \u201cGroove Rock\u201d to the stage. Next up PLATFORM 58<\/a><\/strong> will take to the stage and get everyone dancing with their foot-tapping Bluesy Rock.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

RIFF BASTARD<\/a><\/strong> are up next with their, and I quote \u201cRiff heavy, groove laden, no bullshit Hard Rock\u201d. An interesting description, but once you’ve heard them, you’ll understand it. Finally, TOKYO GREEN\u2019s<\/a><\/strong> instrumental, yet incredibly enticing breed of Jazzy Funk Rock rounds off the night.<\/p>\n
