How ya been?<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong>Welcome to the first Top 3 of our new incarnation, our weekly guide to 3 of Nottingham\u2019s best gigs this coming seven days<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong>On Monday (9th) there\u2019s a fundraiser hosted by <\/strong><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/deltasunmusic\">DELTA SUN <\/a><\/strong> at The Maze, in aid of the tsunami that hit Japan. \u2018Jammin For Japan\u2019 will see some big Notts names take to the stage to try and warm your hearts and raise money for the country that was so devastated in March. A band that<br \/>\nnail the male\/female vocal contrast vibe that I love so much, Check out their Future Session with Notts Unsigned <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=q7l4q41uqjM&#038;feature=player_embedded\">here<\/a>.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/thegoldentroubadours\">THE GOLDEN TROUBADOURS<\/a><\/strong> are a mellow, dreamy acoustic band with some Country vibes to their sound. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/satnamstash\">SATNUM\u2019S TASH <\/a><\/strong>will contrast the above with some happy Ska, Indie, Punk that will make you forget it\u2019s been raining these past few days.  <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/jonathanmillettmusic\">JONATHAN MILLET<\/a><\/strong> is a singer\/songwriter and has a lovely, rugged voice which accompanies some beautifully plucked chords.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/#!\/profile.php?id=1070591166\">AARON SMITH<\/a><\/strong>, another acoustic gem, brings more of a Simon and Garfunkel sound with him, which you\u2019re welcome with warm arms. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/marcreevesmusic\">MARC REEVES<\/a><\/strong> is a great songwriter and equally strong vocalits, a regular on the Nottingham scene if you\u2019re yet to catch Marc this is your chance! <strong>LITTLE WING <\/strong> and <strong>DANNY LOOSELEAF<\/strong> ain\u2019t from Notts, and so sadly we can\u2019t talk about them any further\u2026<\/p>\n<p><strong>WILBERFORCE THE 3RD <\/strong> and <strong>KABEN <\/strong> are either crazy hard to find on the internet, or they\u2019re just not internet people, either way we\u2019re sure they\u2019ll be great.<\/p>\n<p>Doors: 7.30pm<br \/>\nTickets\/ Entry: TBC<br \/>\n&#8212;&#8212;<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong>Next<\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/hhymn\">HHYMN<\/a><\/strong> <strong>will be having their long-awaited album launch on Friday (13th) at The Malt Cross<\/strong>. A Nottingham act on a Nottingham label having their Nottingham launch, Nottingham cubed. We like this plan a lot.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nWe\u2019ve already heard the album, its gorgeous. Expect rhythmic, soulful Folk which touches the soul and makes your heart happy at times, sad at others. A more mellow, thoughtful Mumford and Sons.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nSupporting them, <strong>POPPY SEED <\/strong>will play some cute, effortless Acoustic\/Folk which will warm up the night nicely and get you in the mood for a beautiful night.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nDoors: 7pm<br \/>\nTickets: FREE<br \/>\n&#8212;&#8212;<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong>And finally <\/strong><strong>Off Cut Records <\/strong><strong>brings a night of music celebrating their birthday on Friday (13th) at Spanky Van Dykes.<\/strong><br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/#!\/geckoband?sk=info\">GECKO <\/a><\/strong>are a band of many genres including Reggae, Samba, Indie, Soul and Hip Hop &#8211; now that\u2019s what we call diverse! <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/liamokanemusic\">LIAM AND THE STABILIZERS <\/a><\/strong> will be celebrating the birthday in style seeing as they feature the label\u2019s founder! Playing you a lot of Ska and Reggae and feel good, summer tunes, you\u2019ll feel on holiday. But actually you are on Goldsmith street steps away from \u2018death by tram\u2019 or alternatively a low-carbon method of transportation home.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/mucusmules\">MUCUS MULES<\/a><\/strong>, a Folk super group, will help you to wind down a little and enjoy some peace and quiet with their pretty tunes. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Saint-Raymond\/170392119665497\">SAINT RAYMOND<\/a><\/strong>, a young Notts duo, will play some truly beautiful songs with a rhythmic guitar that\u2019ll keep you swaying and endearing vocals that will keep you smiling.<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<p>Doors: 7.30pm<br \/>\nTickets: \u00a33<br \/>\n<br \/>\nLiz Riordan<br \/>\nx<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello comrades!
