It\u2019s a big week for the Nottingham music scene this week! We\u2019ve got a celebration of some fine young talent, one of the biggest EP launches that Nottingham has ever seen and a proper little rave of an album launch.

\nGIG ONE <\/strong>
\n
\nYMCA<\/a><\/strong> are returning to the Nottingham Contemporary<\/a><\/strong> this Tuesday to put on a huge mix of local talent for their annual showcase The Young Creatives LIVE<\/strong>.
\n
\nYou can expect to see the huge big-band sounds of THE GORGEOUS CHANS<\/a><\/strong>; fresh from selling out their Bodega<\/a><\/strong> headline show which got them plenty of great reviews, they\u2019re performing here at the Contemporary<\/strong> with the intention of getting everybody dancing! Have you got your dancing shoes ready?
\n
\nJOSH WHEATLEY<\/a><\/strong> will be bringing his angelic voice and stellar songwriting along as well. He got this slot after winning the Young Creatives Battle of the Bands at The Maze<\/a><\/strong> a few weeks again, so you know he\u2019s good when he beat out that much talent!
\n
\nWe\u2019ll also have a few runners up from the Young Creatives BOTB joining in with the fun. We\u2019ll have NATASHA<\/strong> bringing some Singer-Songwriter vibes, as well as MC\u2019s A DEE<\/strong>, and KEZ<\/strong> who will be astounding with their unique lyrical flow.
\n
\nThe incredible soulstress that is NINA SMITH<\/a><\/strong> will be joined by THE YOUNG CREATIVES – YMCA DIGITAL BIG BAND<\/strong> on the night, and we look forward to seeing some unique arrangements of some already spectacular songs!

\nNext up we have the humongous EP launch from THE HARGREAVES<\/a><\/strong>, \u201cThe Hargreaves Project<\/a>\u201d, which sees the sisters take over the Albert Hall<\/a><\/strong> this Thursday.
\n
\nWe wrote a news feature on everything that\u2019s been going on last week (which can be found HERE<\/a><\/strong>), but to sum it all up, the girls will be releasing their new EP alongside the Robin Hood Youth Orchestra<\/strong>, and fifty or so Year 6 kids they\u2019ve been working with at Milford Academy; with all the money raised going towards the Notts Education Trust<\/strong>, who help offer kids new experiences in the creative industries from a young age. A lot of work has been going into this for months now, and we’re sure it will be something truly inspirational.
\n
\nSupporting the girls on the night will be THE GOLDEN TROUBADOURS<\/a><\/strong>, the dreamlike Acoustic band who dabble in many different genres. Their varied influences come together to make a very unique sound, which will set the night off to a great start!
\n
\nAlso supporting will be the lovely Soul-Folk sounds of JOY MUMFORD<\/a><\/strong>. With her delicate songwriting, and incredible vocal range, she\u2019s been making quite a name for herself recently, and we\u2019re sure her sweet songs will set the tone just right for THE HARGREAVES<\/a><\/strong> performance.

\nGIG THREE<\/strong>
\n
\nORIGIN ONE<\/a><\/strong> are releasing their new album this week, so to celebrate they\u2019re throwing a massive launch party at The Maze<\/strong> on Friday, courtesy of Phlexx<\/a><\/strong>.
\n
\nFor those unfamiliar, ORIGIN ONE<\/a><\/strong> are a collective of some of the finest talent in Nottingham, rolled into one supergroup who make \u201cSemi-Electronic, Roots influenced music\u201d. They\u2019re known around Notts for putting on incredible live shows, and this night promises to be no different. You\u2019ll get to see several of the collective do their own thing, and if you\u2019re one of the first fifty people through the door, you get a free copy of the album! Sweet!
\n
\n25 PAST THE SKANK<\/a><\/strong> will be bringing their bouncy Reggae sounds, along with bags of charisma which will get you up and, well, skanking! With two of the most engaging frontmen from the local scene, we\u2019re sure these guys will get you down to the dancefloor!
\n
\nTHE AFTERDARK MOVEMENT<\/a><\/strong> will also be taking to the stage to deliver some big-band Hip-Hop energy. This will be their first show of 2014, so we look forward to seeing how they\u2019ve improved their already brilliant performances over the past few months! PARISA ELIYON<\/a><\/strong> of Acoustickle<\/a><\/strong> fame will be performing an exclusive Acoustic set on the night, which we\u2019re sure will show off her beautiful voice and incredible songwriting ability.

\nIf you head upstairs, you can expect a multitude of some of the best Dubstep and Jungle artists that Notitngham has to offer thanks to a Rubberdub<\/a><\/strong> takeover. CONGI<\/a><\/strong>, SERGIC<\/strong><\/a>, CURTZ<\/a><\/strong>, OMEN BREAKS<\/a><\/strong> & FEL DEM<\/a><\/strong> will all have you raving til the early hours of the morning.
