{"id":1317,"date":"2011-08-05T13:00:45","date_gmt":"2011-08-05T12:00:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nusic.org.uk\/wordpress\/?p=1317"},"modified":"2012-05-10T23:01:50","modified_gmt":"2012-05-10T22:01:50","slug":"wire-wool-mini-fest-at-alley-cafe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nusic.org.uk\/wordpress\/wire-wool-mini-fest-at-alley-cafe\/","title":{"rendered":"WIRE + WOOL Mini-Fest at Alley Cafe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>I thought no one went out in August?<\/strong> Clearly no one told the Wire + Wool Crew let alone the Veggie Massive, the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.alleycafe.co.uk\/\">Alley Cafe<\/a><\/strong> was rammoed (yes that&#8217;s a word, now) for the latest one of those <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/event.php?eid=122267291199266\">Wire + Wool Min-Fest<\/a><\/strong> thingy watsits.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nA diverse line-up (inside and out) we caught three Notts acts that collectively smashed a metaphorical crater of dinosaur wipe-out proportions, these musicians weren&#8217;t in the mood for messing.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nFirst up recent <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nusic.org.uk\/wordpress\/nusic-future-session-04-the-afterdark-movement\/\">Future Session<\/a><\/strong> stars <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/TheAfterdarkMovement\">THE AFTERDARK MOVEMENT<\/a><\/strong>, we are so full of love for these guys its near impossible to be objective so lets not even bother pretending we&#8217;re going to be! They nailed it, song after song, winning over the crowd and getting them jumping so much a second natural disaster become possible, would the meteor smash be followed by an earth quake? I&#8217;m pretty sure the tectonic plates beneath Nottingham were moving.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nNext up <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nusic.org.uk\/wordpress\/future-sound-of-nottingham-final-at-rock-city\/\">Future Sound of Nottingham<\/a><\/strong> Finalists <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Tastebudsonline\">TASTEBUDS<\/a><\/strong>, last seen nailing it on the Rock City main stage  and now enjoying their new found fame post raving reviews in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thisisnottingham.co.uk\/Gutted-way\/story-13031970-detail\/story.html\">Nottingham Post<\/a> AND The Metro, they too got the crowd moving, as well as educated in the worlds of headwear and instrument diversity. What&#8217;s not to love about a band that wear top hats and use a melodica?<br \/>\n<br \/>\nAs if things could get any &#8216;huger&#8217;, I seriously found myself worrying for the future of the planet, the dinosaurs wouldn&#8217;t have lasted three seconds against this kind of force. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/WeAreJustJames\">JUST JAMES<\/a><\/strong>, new band on the block featuring beatboxer MOTORMOUF (better known for his collaborations with Nina Smith). You know that phrase &#8216;smashed it out the park&#8217;? Well this lot smashed it out the solar system&#8230; HUGE.
