This week sees another headline Bodega show, a proper chilled out night of live music, and a day packed full of uplifting soulful vibes.

GIG ONE

JOY MUMFORD will be playing her headline Bodega show this Thursday and it’s shaping up to be something really special.

Joy has had quite the year. After winning the Future Sound of Nottingham final at Rock City, she went on to open the biggest stage in Notts at Splendour Festival and got loads of ace reviews. Her Soulful-Folk tunes are as equally catchy as they are intricate, and it’s no wonder she’s a favourite on the local scene. She’s got plenty of new tunes up her sleeve, and we reckon she’s gonna put on a performance that we’ll remember for a very long time.

Supporting Joy we have BETH FRISBY, a lady who played this same stage for her own headline show just a few weeks ago. We popped down and were blown away by how incredible Beth’s Dark-Pop translated live. Her voice is beautifully haunting, and she puts on one hell of a show. Make sure you check out her awesome EP “Wandering Eyes” before the show so you get a feel of what to expect!

Also supporting are the beautiful Folk sounds of JAMIE MOON. Another fella whose brought an incredible EP this year. His “Glasshouse” EP is full of delicate soft Acoustic numbers that all tug at the heartstrings. Jame’s live performances tend to stun the crowd into silence, so if you’re after a natter, stay downstairs, cos otherwise you’ll be ruining a truly stunning performance.

Price: £5
Doors: 7PM

GIG TWO

Over at Bunkers Hill on Friday you can expect to find three awesome varied acts to ease you into the weekend nicely.

ROXY MAY will be kicking things off with her uplifting Piano Pop. Roxy makes the kind of music that puts a smile on your face, and gives you a little chuckle when you listen to the lyrics. It’s happy Pop, and the kind of uplifting music we need more of in our lives. We guarantee if you’ve had a naff week at work, she’ll cheer you right up!

Next up we’ll have the lovely soft Folk sounds of ANWYN WILLIAMS. Often compared to the legend that is Joni Mitchell, you’ll definitely hear the influence. With a beautiful tone to her voice and honest, classic songwriting, Anwyn takes the classic Folk formula, adds a bit of a Country twang, and makes something that sounds incredibly familiar, but fresh and exciting at the same time.

Rounding the night off we have the chilled out sounds of ALTA PUEBLO. They’re a band that describe their genre on Facebook as “European Cafe Culture.” Now, in theory, that shouldn’t make sense. But once you give these guys a listen, you kind of understand what they mean. A mix of Acoustic guitars, harmonies and chilled percussion make for tunes that transport you to the middle of France with a double espresso. Just give ‘em a listen, you’ll get what I mean.. Last time we saw ‘em, the crowd burst into a choreographed dance routine, so be prepared for a right good time.

Finally, rounding everything off we have RAM1, backed by THE ITES BAND.
