Well, the Nottingham music scene proves itself once again. This week, we just couldn’t pick three top gigs, cos there was clearly four standouts. There’s plenty of awesomeness for Notts music lovers this week!<\/p>\n
GIG ONE<\/strong><\/p>\n This Friday sees THE SWIINES<\/a><\/strong> return to Rescue Rooms<\/a><\/strong> main hall, for one heck of a show, with an awesome support lineup too. <\/p>\n Kicking things off we have the beautiful Folk sounds of CEDRIC PETERS<\/a><\/strong>. A delicate performer with some of the most touching, heartfelt tunes you\u2019ll hear. If you want more of an idea what to expect, keep an eye out for his Future Session which goes live tomorrow! Following, on a slightly different vibe we have GEORGIE<\/a><\/strong>, who will be bringing their Americana styley tunes to the RR stage. With some wicked tunes and awesome musicianship, GEORGIE<\/a><\/strong> have quite a show in store for ya. Finally, before headliners THE SWIINES<\/a><\/strong> take to the stage, we have the HUGE sounds of JUST JAMES<\/a><\/strong>, who bring Electro-Rock which is bound to get the party started big time!<\/p>\n THE SWIINES<\/a><\/strong> are an incredible live band. Bringing proper Rock n Roll swagger, some sick riffs and bags of catchy tunes. If you\u2019ve never seen \u2018em before, you\u2019re in for a right treat. After supporting the Bugg on some of his tour dates earlier in the year, this is the perfect way for \u2018em to round off a wicked 2014. And we reckon there\u2019s a good chance of them selling it out too!<\/p>\n Price: \u00a38 ADV GIG TWO<\/strong><\/p>\n Next up on the Nottingham gig circuit this week is Can\u2019t Stop Won\u2019t Stop<\/a><\/strong>, bringing you a mash-up of Notts most prolific wordsmiths showcasing 32 of their best bars over classic old school beats, all chopped up by EARLYBIRD<\/a><\/strong> on MPC!<\/p>\n Spitting some bars at Market Bar<\/a><\/strong> on Friday are 2TONE<\/a><\/strong>, BRU-C<\/a><\/strong>, CAN B<\/a><\/strong>, CAPPO<\/a><\/strong>, GARTON<\/a><\/strong>, J.DOT<\/a><\/strong>, J.GOLD<\/a><\/strong>, JUGA-NAUT<\/a><\/strong>, KARIZMA<\/a><\/strong>, STAN CROOK-ED<\/a><\/strong>, VANDAL SAVAGE<\/strong>, WARIKO<\/a><\/strong> and YOUTHORACLE<\/a><\/strong>. All for just five squid. Get ready for an explosion of new talent ranging from MCs to instrumentalists from new kids on the block TIARA & AVANA<\/strong>, DANIEL ASHLEY<\/a><\/strong>, ANIQUA<\/strong>, KEZZ<\/a><\/strong>, KAY JAY<\/strong>, D DOT<\/strong>, NIKITA<\/strong>, SHAAN<\/strong>, ADEE<\/strong> and SNOWY<\/a><\/strong>. Get ready to hear these names more in the future! Headlining is the mini Falade – Miss IAMSTARZ<\/a><\/strong> with some moving atmospheric indie to end the evening.<\/p>\n Price: FREE GIG FOUR<\/strong><\/p>\n Sunday night you can catch KAGOULE<\/a><\/strong>, BLUEBIRD<\/a><\/strong> and MANNEQUIN<\/a><\/strong> playing an extra special Xmas show celebrating the fun and eventful year each of them have had. Each band will be playing 40 min sets which will be filmed and multitracked. So why not get in the festive mood and celebrate with them for this extra special show all for free at the radical DIY venue Stuck On A Name Studios<\/a><\/strong>! Bring your own booze and join the party\u2026<\/p>\n Band members Jake, Curt, Brad and Josie from BLUEBIRD<\/a><\/strong> will kick things into gear with some Alt-Math\/Emo. Described as \u2018A punk rock band which knows too many chords and time signatures\u2019 and their band interests being \u2018Pear juice, Cheetos and all things herbal\u2019… who\u2019d have thought the unique outcome would consist of heavy guitar tones, melodic interludes and some gritty dynamic power-driven vocals! <\/p>\n Up next is the latest band we\u2019ve had in for a future session which will be out in January 2014 – prepare yourselves for some heavy sounds of Ben, Joe and Sid from MANNEQUIN<\/a><\/strong>! Described as \u2018Enjoyable chaos\u2019 by LeftLion, these guys will definitely bring a set of intense riffage, face melters, and angsty vocals. Session due out Jan 12th!<\/p>\n
