{"id":15289,"date":"2015-09-06T11:41:58","date_gmt":"2015-09-06T10:41:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nusic.org.uk\/wordpress\/?p=15289"},"modified":"2019-09-05T18:35:09","modified_gmt":"2019-09-05T17:35:09","slug":"top-3-gigs-week-beginning-7th-sept-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nusic.org.uk\/wordpress\/top-3-gigs-week-beginning-7th-sept-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"TOP 3 GIGS &#8211; Week Beginning 7th Sept 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We\u2019ve got tons of Notts diversity this week, to make you feel slightly better about summer coming to an end, including an acoustic night, one of the last festivals of the Summer and a Rock &amp; Roll fuelled headline show.<\/p>\n<p><strong>GIG ONE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\";fref=ts\">NATALIE SMALLWOOD<\/a><\/strong> is bringing along a few of her current favourite rising talents to play an acoustic gig at <strong><a href=\"\">The Lord Roberts<\/a> <\/strong> on Friday.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"\">YAKOBO<\/a><\/strong> is the main act of the night. After raising over \u00a34,500 through his recent Kickstarter campaign, he is set to launch three EPs with the first expected this October. His sound is probs best described as Indie-Pop infused with Folk, and he is sure to be a treat for your ears this Friday night.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\";fref=ts\">NATALIE SMALLWOOD<\/a><\/strong> herself will also be taking to the stage, bringing you some of her acoustic loveliness. The Singer\/Songwriter has been gigging round Notts for some time now, and always delivers some rather beautiful tales within her songs. We&#8217;re sure this night will be no different.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"\">HANNAH FAY<\/a><\/strong> will also be taking to the stage, after doing a run of gigs at Nottingham\u2019s very own beach (yup, you know that beach in the most landlocked city in the country&#8230;) Usually you can expect to hear Hannah\u2019s soulful voice layered over some Electronic tracks, but you\u2019ll be hearing a slightly different (but still bloody brilliant) sound in this acoustic set.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Michael Hardy<\/strong> from Derby is also on the line up.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"\">The Lord Roberts Pub<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\n11th September<br \/>\nDoors: 7:30<br \/>\nTickets: \u00a33<\/p>\n<p><strong>GIG TWO<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When we said we\u2019ve got a ton of Notts bands for you this week, we really meant it. <strong><a href=\"\">I\u2019m Not From London<\/a><\/strong> and the <strong><a href=\"\">Alley Cafe<\/a><\/strong> are giving us over 30 acts (yup, really, 30) from our lovely county will be taking to the stage at <strong><a href=\"\">Outstanding (In a Field)<\/a><\/strong>, over in Woodborough. Here&#8217;s a few of the musical delights you&#8217;ll be able to indulge upon&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Saturday sees local Hip-Hop legend <strong><a href=\"\">SCORZAYZEE<\/a><\/strong>, along with <strong><a href=\";fref=ts\">THE AFTERDARK MOVEMENT<\/a><\/strong>, bring some huge Urban flavour to this massively varied genre line-up. You can hear some Pop catchy-ness from <strong><a href=\"\">DEAF BRIDGES<\/a><\/strong> whilst <strong><a href=\"\">UNKNOWN ERA<\/a><\/strong> will be bringing all sorts of genres to your ears; from Reggae to Blues. Following the release of their single &#8211; \u201c<em>The Lord\u2019s Revolver<\/em>\u201d &#8211; <strong><a href=\"\">WHISKY STAIN<\/a><\/strong> will be there bringing along some huge Bluesy Rock sounds.<\/p>\n<p>Again on the Rock front, but not quite as fast, in fact, a lot slower; <strong><a href=\"\">EYRE LLEW<\/a><\/strong> will bring some beautiful sounds to Stage One. You can catch <strong><a href=\"\">CROSA ROSA<\/a><\/strong> fresh from their set at the <strong><a href=\"\">BBC Introducing<\/a><\/strong> Stage at <strong><a href=\"\">Reading and Leeds<\/a><\/strong>. <strong><a href=\"\">94 GUNSHIPS<\/a><\/strong> will be there too, bringing you some super catchy Blues that will make you want to sing a long like crazy. Your Americana vibes will be coming from none other than <strong><a href=\"\">RYAN FARMER<\/a><\/strong>, and finally the <strong><a href=\"\">DIABLOFURS<\/a><\/strong> will be taking charge of the Punk Rock front of things. Pretty impressive lineup so far, ay? And that\u2019s only the main stage on Day one!<\/p>\n<p>The Sunday brings you a slightly smaller lineup, but there is still an awful lot to see. <strong><a href=\"\">ULYSSES STORM<\/a><\/strong> will be headlining the Sunday and bringing you some \u201cBombastic off-kilter Blues Dance Rock.\u201d <strong><a href=\"\">LE CHUCK<\/a><\/strong> will be bringing you some Noise\/Math\/Post-Hardcore and you can rid all of your Nu-Folk cravings with <strong><a href=\"\">FELIX MB<\/a><\/strong>. Finally <strong><a href=\"\">ANOMIC SOUL<\/a><\/strong> will be delivering some Electronic sonic beauty.<\/p>\n<p>So, however broad your musical taste may be, you&#8217;ll definitely find something that\u2019ll tickle your fancy.<\/p>\n<p>Full lineup <strong><a href=\"\">HERE<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bank Hill, Woodborough<\/strong><br \/>\n12th\/13th September<br \/>\nDoors: 10am<br \/>\nTickets: \u00a310<br \/>\n18+<\/p>\n<p><strong>GIG THREE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"\">LOIS<\/a><\/strong> are taking on the headline slot at <strong><a href=\"\">The Maze<\/a><\/strong> this Saturday. They\u2019ve taken influences from 60s and 70s big bands and given it a modern spin, creating a fresh take on a retro sound. You can expect some super strong Rock &amp; Roll songs with a catchy sound that\u2019ll take you right back into the 60s whilst simultaneously feeling incredibly current.<\/p>\n<p>Support comes from:<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"\">THE AMBER HERD<\/a><\/strong>, the \u201canything but ordinary\u201d five-piece formed all the way back in 2007 and have consistently put out some brilliant Alternative anthems.
