It\u2019s been an insanely tough week in editorial court, but we just about narrowed it down to an EP launch at <strong><a href=\"\">The Maze<\/a><\/strong>, an EP Launch at <strong><a href=\"\">Jam Cafe<\/a><\/strong> and a celebration of all things Notts at <strong><a href=\"\">Rock City<\/a><\/strong>! Could hardly leave that out could we? And can we talk about the fact it\u2019s December this week? DECEMBER?! It\u2019s incredible how much the Nottingham music scene has achieved in the past year, ay?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Psst, heads up, as some peeps have challenged us on the order of the T3 gigs recently. Our gigs are ordered chronologically. More deets on T3 qualification in our FAQs <a href=\"\"><strong>HERE<\/strong><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>GIG ONE &#8211; Thursday<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"\">THE MOCKING JAYS<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be releasing their debut EP \u2018<em>TMJ<\/em>\u2019 (See what they did there?) this Thursday\u00a0over at <strong>The Maze<\/strong>. The four-piece, who have made their home in Nottingham after growing up in Derbyshire (can\u2019t blame em can you?), make Indie Pop with super catchy choruses and refined riffs. The band are heavily influenced by <strong>Arctic Monkeys<\/strong> and <strong>The 1975<\/strong>, even quoting Matty Healy himself in their song \u2018Feels.\u2019\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>PAPER SHOP DAVE<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are the support of the night. The Indie Rock trio released their debut EP \u2018<em>First Draft<\/em>\u2019 back in May and it includes some very catchy oh-oh-ooh-owoh\u2019s and killer riffs. PSD formed at the start of 2013 (that was nearly three years ago, just to make ya feel old) and have been playing gigs and refining their sound ever since.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also Supporting is <\/span><b>Ajay Henry<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from Derby.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"\">The Maze<\/a><br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thursday 3rd December<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 7pm<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tickets: \u00a35<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>GIG TWO &#8211; Thursday<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"\">DAUDI MATSIKO<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is launching his sophomore EP \u2018<em>The Lingering Effects of Disconnection<\/em>\u2019 at <\/span><b>Jam Cafe <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">this Thursday. His \u201c#BleakFolk,\u201d as Daudi describes it, combined with his beautiful vocal and heartwarming lyrics can silence any room, heal any wound and cure a broken heart. Daudi uses his music as a therapeutic outlet to help him through tough times whilst simultaneously helping others to achieve an escape from their realities. Try resisting the tears man, it\u2019s impossible! The new EP is available now, so make sure you have a listen before the show.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Support comes from <\/span><b><a href=\";fref=ts\">KETO<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, fronted by the insanely talented Leah Sinead. Taking traditional Folk infused with electronic elements and Leah\u2019s powerful, captivating vocal, the band create enchanting atmospheric soundscapes. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Jam Cafe<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thursday 3rd December<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 8pm<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tickets: FREE<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>GIG THREE &#8211; Friday<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This Friday is something special.\u00a0Showcasing some of the amazing talent that has come out of Nottingham, Our City will be taking over <strong>Rock City<\/strong> for an evening of awesome Nottinghamness. Not only will it\u00a0celebrate the groundbreaking year for Nottingham\u2019s music scene, but its also part of <strong>Rock City\u2019s<\/strong> 35th (!!!!) Birthday celebrations. Prepare yourself for a shed load of insanely impressive stats about the line up.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After reaching number 8 in July with his debut album, selling out <strong>Rock City<\/strong> himself, and supporting <strong>Ed Sheeran<\/strong> on his arena tour, <\/span><b><a href=\"\">SAINT RAYMOND<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has done pretty well this year. The 20 year old from Bramcote will be headlining <strong>Rock City<\/strong> for the third time this year as part of Our City. Callum\u2019s ridiculously catchy riffs and woah-oh-oh\u2019s (you know which song I\u2019m talking about here) make for an incredible live performance that sound like they were designed for a packed out Citeh to sing back to him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Next up, <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>D.I.D<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (or Dog Is Dead if you\u2019ve been living under a rock for the past year) will be performing. The band, originally from West Bridgford, have been around since 2007 and have built up an impressive CV, including playing <strong>Glastonbury<\/strong> and releasing their debut album \u2018<em>All Our Favourite Stories<\/em>\u2019 in October 2012. The Indie Pop five-piece returned with EP \u2018<em>Fast Food\u2019<\/em> under their new name in September. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nottingham\u2019s own Top 20 popstar <\/span><b><a href=\"\">INDIANA<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will also be performing on Friday. She takes\u00a080s inspired pulsing synths, mixes them with some super catchy melodies and puts\u00a0em all together to make music designed to dance to, <em>Solo Dancing<\/em> if you will (I won\u2019t do that again. Sorry). She released her debut album \u2018<em>No Romeo<\/em>\u2019 back in January, achieving number 17 in the official charts. Not bad, ay?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Made up of Cai, Lucy and Lawrence, <\/span><b><a href=\"\">KAGOULE<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be taking to the stage, bringing Alternative Grunge Rock reminiscent of 90s bands like <strong>Smashing Pumpkins<\/strong>. The use of Lucy\u2019s female vocal paired with Cai\u2019s creates a uniqueness to their sound fuelled by punchy bass lines. After releasing their debut album \u2018<em>Urth<\/em>\u2019 back in August the band have been touring all over the place, from New York to um&#8230; Scunthorpe. The childhood friends have an unrivaled chemistry which helps them to create their incredible live presence. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ee;\"><b><u>GEORGIE<\/u><\/b><\/span>\u00a0is currently coming to the end of her headline tour \u2018Following the 20 Mile Road\u2019 named after the journey\u00a0from her hometown of Mansfield to Nottingham. Her\u00a0West Coast American style, with a lil hint of a Country twang, takes inspiration from <strong style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fleetwood Mac<\/strong>. <b><a href=\"\">GEORGIE<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> signed to <a href=\"\"><strong>Columbia Records<\/strong><\/a> in August. Yeah, as in the one <strong>Adele<\/strong> and <strong>One Direction<\/strong> are signed to. Which can only mean some seriously big things to come\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ambient Acoustic three-piece, <\/span><b><a href=\"\">EYRE LLEW<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, will also be performing at Our City. Despite forming only just over a year ago and playing their first live show in May, they\u2019ve released five singles, played at<strong> <a href=\"\">Splendour Festival<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"\">Dot to Dot<\/a>,<\/strong> as well as receiving what seems like hundreds of positive reviews. And it\u2019s no wonder, they put on a stunning live show that captivates in many ways. Like an uplifting somber trance\u2026 get what we mean? No? Okay&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Last but most definitely not least are <\/span><b><a href=\"\">SHELTER POINT<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. They may have been born and raised in Coventry, but they now call Nottingham home. Signed to <a href=\"\"><strong>Space + Time Records<\/strong><\/a>, the duo create celestial soulful ambience through the use of a delicate falsetto and sleek production. Their latest single \u201c<em>Glass Into Gold<\/em>\u201d is due out shortly, but if you want a sneak preview, make sure ya listen to it on the NMP <a href=\"\"><strong>HERE<\/strong><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All that amazing talent from one city playing one of the most iconic stages in the country.
