And because we\u2019re feeling extra generous we\u2019re giving you four gigs over two weeks, it\u2019s like the sales have come early. It also has absolutely nothing to do with us wanting a few days off over the holidays. Nothing whatsoever\u2026 We\u2019ve got a charity show at<strong> <a href=\"\">The Maze<\/a><\/strong> and three New Year\u2019s Eve gigs for ya.<\/p>\n<p><b>GIG ONE <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; Wednesday 23rd<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">First up there\u2019s a charity show over at <strong>The Maze<\/strong>, raising money for the Saving Lives Helipad Appeal for the QMC. The helipad would help the Major Trauma Center which not only serves Nottingham, but the whole of the East Midlands. Definitely a worthy cause.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Performing on the evening will be <\/span><b><a href=\"\">HOTBOX<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The Indie Rock four-piece all headed off to different unis this year, but they\u2019re back in Notts for Christmas and couldn\u2019t resist playing for you lucky lot<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The four-piece create Indie Rock with a hint of Pop from catchy choruses and impressive riffs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"\">I AM STARZ<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be bringing her unique Atmospheric Indie to the evening with her delicate ethereal vocal. At 16 years old, Starz is definitely leading the way for the Finnish Trinidadian side of the Notts music scene. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Next up, taking influences from the likes of <strong>Kodaline<\/strong> and <strong>The 1975<\/strong>, <\/span><b><a href=\"\">MATT HUMPHRIES<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be performing. Using his acoustic guitar, Matt creates Acoustic Rock using his soft, refined vocal and emotive song writing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Brothers <\/span><b><a href=\"\">SAM &amp; JOE<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from Arnold will be performing. They released their debut EP &#8211; \u2018<em>Bluezy Dream<\/em>\u2019 &#8211; in October which showcased their unique chemistry. They create their sound using an acoustic guitar and their two vocals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"\">IZZY CARLIN<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is also performing. She was the winner of the GDST Young Vocalist of the Year Award in 2014 and is a Mezzo Soprano in The National Youth Choir. Impressive stuff. AND she\u2019s a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, so don\u2019t mess with her.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>The Maze<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wednesday 23rd December<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 8pm<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tickets: \u00a35<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>GIG TWO <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; NYE<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"\">THE INVISIBLE ORCHESTRA<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be helping you to see in the end of 2015 at the <strong>Arts Theatre<\/strong>, all 32 of them to be precise. The orchestra was created back in 2012 and includes some of the best session musicians from across Nottinghamshire. They even have a Grammy award winning organist, don\u2019t ya know. The orchestra combine all kinds of genres &#8211; Soul, Funk, Reggae, Latin and Arabic Punk to name a few &#8211; using a core rhythm section and brass section plus a string quartet and piano. They\u2019ll be joined on stage with vocal performances from <\/span><b><a href=\"\">HARLEIGHBLU<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b><a href=\"\">SCORZAYZEE<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b><a href=\"\">PERCYDREAD<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b><a href=\"\">NATALIE DUNCAN<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> just to name a few. They will be releasing their debut album in spring 2016 and in case you hadn\u2019t already realised, they\u2019re not actually invisible.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You will also be able to catch Jack Peachey, who goes by the name of <\/span><b><a href=\"\">GALLERY 47<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, joined by a few members of the orchestra. Known for his finger style guitar works and soft vocal, Jack has performed at <strong>T in the Park<\/strong> and joined Paul Weller on his European Tour. His debut album \u2018<em>Fate is the Law<\/em>\u2019 was released in 2011 with his sophomore album \u2018<em>All Will Be Well<\/em>\u2019 coming three years later in 2014.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Nottingham Arts Theatre<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thursday 31st December<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 8pm<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tickets: \u00a320<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>GIG THREE <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; NYE<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>I\u2019m Not From London<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>Rough Trade <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are coming together to bring you a massive New Year\u2019s Eve. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"\">WHISKY STAIN<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be kicking off the start of your whisky fuelled evening. The Rock two-piece formed back in 2011 and create stomp provoking anthems with catchy choruses and bluesy guitar workings. They released their latest single \u2018<em>The Lord\u2019s Revolver<\/em>\u2019 back in August and are set to release new music in the new year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"\">RIFF BASTARD<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> create Metal Stoner Hard Rock which is unsurprisingly drenched in riffs. The five-piece have been around for a few years now and we quote will be \u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">bastardizing the living shit out of <\/span><b>Rough Trade<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for the first time.\u201d<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Apparently they literally shit out music.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"\">EYRE LLEW<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are back for what may be the show that finally gets them into double figures. The Ambient Rock trio have had an amazing year which has seen them develop an incredible live performance and release two singles, with the third &#8211; \u2018<em>Leo<\/em>\u2019 &#8211; available on Monday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finally, (if you manage to make it to midnight that is) <\/span><b><a href=\"\">WIDOWS<\/a> <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will be welcoming 2016 with their Stoner Hard Rock. They released their second album \u2018<em>Death Valley Duchess<\/em>\u2019 in 2012 after forming in 2008 and building up an immense live presence. They\u2019ve been playing gigs all over this place this year including MammothFest in Brighton but are back home in Nottingham to see out 2015.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Rough Trade<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thursday 31st December<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 8.30pm<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tickets: \u00a310, \u00a312 OTD<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>GIG FOUR <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; NYE<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>Brouhaha<\/strong><\/a> is making a special comeback to The Maze to celebrate the end of 2015. The \u2018There\u2019s No Place Like Home\u2019 theme means a Wizard of Oz fancy dress, whack out your best Dorothy costumes people. There will also be a fire show as well as Burlesque and Cabaret performers. I don\u2019t know about you but scarecrows and fire do not sound like a good combination to me.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Performing on the evening will be <\/span><b><a href=\"\">UNKNOWN ERA<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The nine piece combine a mix of genres from Reggae, Hip Hop, Ska and Blues to create their unique sound. They bring a hugely energetic performance, perfect for seeing in the new year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"\">JUST JAMES<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are back and will be bringing their Sci-Fi Rock &amp; Roll with them. Bringing together elements of Hip Hop, House and Drum and Bass with vocals from <a href=\"\"><strong>MOTORMOUF<\/strong><\/a>, the band are known for their HUGE live performances.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"\">THE EDI JOHNSTON BIT<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> consisting of (believe it or not) Edi Johnston, who you may recognise from <strong><a href=\"\">THE AUSTIN FRANCIS CONNECTION<\/a><\/strong>. We hear Edi makes songs on his Ukelele about being ginger (he was nominated for a MOGO award. That\u2019s Music of Ginger Origin FYI) and making life decisions using Rock Paper Scissors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"\">FUSIONISTIC<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are an eight-piece band combining Reggae, Hip-Hop, Funk, Soul, Jazz, oh and R&amp;B.
