Don&#8217;t worry, there&#8217;s plenty going off in Notts to\u00a0have you forgetting what time of year it is (along with your name, probs your wallet, and the fact you just bruised yourself). There\u2019s a Metal Night at <b><a href=\"\">The Sal<\/a><\/b>, a single launch at <b><a href=\"\">Rough Trade<\/a><\/b> and a Mosh About over at <b><a href=\"\">The Maze<\/a><\/b>.<\/p>\n<p><b>FRIDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On Friday, Trojan Fest Metal Night is kicking off over at <strong>The Sal<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"\">TAKEN BY THE TIDE<\/a> <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will be taking to the stage on Friday night. The Progressive Metal Hardcore five-piece released their first (and incredibly catchy titled) EP \u201c<em>There Is No Such Thing As An Atheist In A Foxhole<\/em>\u201d back in 2010, followed by \u2018<em>Hands of Spite<\/em>\u2019 four years later. The band are currently finishing up their next record, which looking to be quite a monster of a record (ya know, in a friendly, you\u2019ll really enjoy listening to kinda way).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bringing along their Blackened Death Metal will be <\/span><b><a href=\"\">CACODAEMONIC<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (a \u2018cacodaemon\u2019 is an evil spirit, devil or daemon, btw. Thanks google). After forming almost a decade ago in 2007, the band have played festivals and gigs all over the country, including their own headline tour last summer. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also performing are <\/span><b>Intervention<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from Staffordshire.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>The Old Salutation Inn<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Friday 22nd January<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 8pm<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tickets: \u00a34, \u00a35 OTD<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">18+<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SATURDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>I\u2019m Not From London<\/strong><\/a> and <strong>Rough Trade<\/strong> are coming together for the launch of <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>TOM MCCARTNEY<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\">\u2019s<\/a> second single \u2018<em>Kicked Outta Town<\/em>.\u2019 The single tells the story of when he was heckled out a gig over in Lincolnshire (it\u2019s alright Tom, us Notts lot wouldn\u2019t do that to ya). The 16 year old from Radcliffe-on-Trent describes his music as \u201cBluesy Rock \u2018n\u2019 Roll with a Country twang\u201d with a deep, husky voice that defies his age, it\u2019s hard to believe this guy is still doing his GCSEs!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"\">LOUIS ANTONIOU<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and his band <\/span><b>THE BLUE JAY WAYS<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be supporting Tom on the <strong>Rough Trade<\/strong> stage. After NTU stole Louis from his hometown of Watford, Notts\u00a0became\u00a0a big inspiration for Louis in his songwriting, along with Blues artists from <strong>Seasick Steve<\/strong> to <strong>Howlin\u2019 Wolf<\/strong>. Louis released his latest EP \u2018<em>Scum<\/em>\u2019 back in November and has just released a trailer for the video of \u2018<em>Poor Man\u2019s Rich Song<\/em>\u2019 from the EP. So keep your eyes and ears peeled for that.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"\">STACEY MCMULLEN<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will also be supporting on Saturday. His music ranges from Blues to Rap, Metal to Flamenco and just about everything in between. \u00a0Last year Stacey raised over \u00a3300 for Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Refugee Forum with his song \u2018<em>Lines in the Sand<\/em>\u2019, we&#8217;re sure you&#8217;ll get to hear that beaut of a song on Saturday!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Rough Trade<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Saturday 23rd January<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 8pm<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tickets: FREE<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SUNDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>IKE Production\u2019s<\/strong><\/a> Mosh About hits <strong>The Maze<\/strong> on Sunday. The clue is in the name &#8211; prepare yourself to be well and truly battered and bruised, you know, in a fun way.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first Notts band of the evening are Mansfield five-piece <\/span><b><a href=\"\">NO HONOUR<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The Melodic Hardcore band launched back in 2012. They released their latest song \u2018<em>Lost Youth<\/em>\u2019 on Christmas Day with the video spreading awareness of mental health issues and trying to prevent suicide.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Macmillan Fest Battle of the Band 2014 winners <\/span><b><a href=\"\">FAMOUS FOR NOTHING<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are performing on Sunday. The Metalcore six-piece have just announced the release of their EP \u2018<em>Famous40<\/em>\u2019 at the end of March, you may get a first listen to some of the track on Sunday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can also catch <\/span><b><a href=\"\">AN EMPIRE WILL FALL<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> over at <\/span><b>The Maze<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Originally formed in 2012, before having a reshuffle and a name change in 2013, the five-piece create Melodic Deathcore that is apparently perfect for <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cfans of jiggy brutal shit to bop your booty to!\u201d I don\u2019t know about you but bopping booties aren\u2019t the first thing that comes to mind when I hear Melodic Deathcore.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"\">STOP HITTING YOURSELF<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will also be performing. The Hardcore three-piece formed in 2013 and, along with having an awesome band name, have been described as \u201cParty music for the Punk culture\u201d by Vendetta magazine.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The final Notts act of the evening are <\/span><b><a href=\"\">WOLVES DON\u2019T SLEEP<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
