It might have something to do with spring getting pretty close. Thanks mother nature, we didn\u2019t know you controlled the music world too. There\u2019s a gig with three artists that the industry peeps are loving at <strong><a href=\"\">The Arts Theatre<\/a><\/strong>, some incredible acoustic happenings at <strong><a href=\"\">Jam Cafe<\/a><\/strong> and an album launch at <strong><a href=\"\">Rescue Rooms<\/a><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>WEDNESDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s Industry Week over at Confetti, which (if you didn\u2019t know) basically means that there\u2019s gonna be loads of important media people in Notts. As part of it, three super awesome Nottingham acts are playing a gig at <strong>The Arts Theatre<\/strong>. It\u2019s one of only two events at Industry Week that are open to the general public, the other being our very own Workshop. Have we mentioned that the Workshop is full of musician helping peeps? For free? No? Funny that, have a read of <strong><a href=\"\">THIS<\/a><\/strong> then.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>FIELD<\/b> <b>STUDIES<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be taking the headline slot on Wednesday evening. 2015 saw the four-piece gain support from some seriously huge names in the industry, including Huw Stephens and John Kennedy, and then went on to play the BBC Introducing stage at <strong>Glastonbury<\/strong>. The beautifully dark, Ambient Post-Rock four-piece have recently announced the release of their second EP \u2018<em>Rainmaking<\/em>\u2019 which you\u2019ll be able to get ya lil paws on from the 22nd April (which is nowhere near as far away as it sounds).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You will also get to hear the beautiful sounds of <\/span><b><a href=\"\">DAUDI MATSIK<\/a><a href=\"\">O<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Using music as his therapeutic outlet since he was just a teenager, Daudi can turn the saddest of topics into heart-warming, tear-jerking lyrics that can heal a broken heart with his #bleaksoul. I defy you to hold back the tears.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finally, <\/span><b><a href=\"\">YAZMIN LACEY<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be performing some minimalistic, beautiful soul. She\u2019s been doing a few of those intimate living room gigs recently, bit of a different vibe\u00a0this then, being a massive theatre.\u00a0\u00a0Yazmin has been picked up by the <strong><a href=\"\">Future Bubblers<\/a><\/strong> project, which was founded by Gilles Peterson and Brownswood Music with the aim\u00a0of developing the talent of a few select up and comers around the country. Things are looking bubbly (geddit?) for YL.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>The Arts Theatre<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wednesday 9th March<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 6pm<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tickets: Free<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>THURSDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>Under The Tree<\/strong><\/a> are putting on some of their favourite acoustic acts from the Notts music scene over at the <strong>Jam Cafe<\/strong> on Thursday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Headlining the early evening soir\u00e9e is \u201csinger of songs, drinker of gin\u201d &#8211;\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"\"><b>MELISSA DANIAL-WARD<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. \u00a0Melissa\u2019s unique and bloody beautiful blend of Acoustic Folk Pop is created through her soothing vocal and spine-chillingly honest lyrics. Have a listen to her song \u2018Little Parts\u2019 and you\u2019ll get what I mean.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You will also be able to catch the unmistakeable voice of <\/span><b><a href=\"\">DAISY GODFREY<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Influenced by some of the Jazz greats, Daisy writes all her music with her guitarist Ryan Cornell. Daisy first realised she wasn\u2019t all too bad at singing when she was 8 years old, despite her friends telling her otherwise. She\u2019s since honed that talent to develop the gorgeous belter of a voice we hear today.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also performing is <\/span><b>Matt Hubbert<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from Boston, Lincolnshire.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Jam Cafe<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thursday 10th March<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 3pm<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tickets: Free<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>FRIDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"\">HECK<\/a> <\/b>(formerly known as <a href=\"\"><strong>BABY GODZILLA<\/strong><\/a>)<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are releasing their debut album \u2018<em>Instructions<\/em>\u2019 on Friday and they\u2019re only going and playing the whole bloody thing at <\/span><b>Rescue Rooms<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to celebrate. It also marks the first night of their 9 date UK tour. Making \u201cgeneral extreme noise\u201d the band have been picked up by <strong>Kerrang<\/strong>! and <strong>Metal Hammer<\/strong> and will be playing <strong>Download Festival<\/strong> in June. Their latest video for single \u2018<em>Good As Dead<\/em>\u2019 already has over 25,000 views and it\u2019s only been up three days! It involves some very well choreographed (and very unexpected) dance moves from the band. Lets hope they bring those moves to RR on Friday night.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Support comes from <\/span><b><a href=\"\">THE DAMN HEAVY<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, who create a mix of Blues, Soul, Garage and Stoner Rock.
