Why do you make our job so hard? Why do you put on so many amazing gigs week after week? We\u2019ve been sat here debating which three gigs deserve to be in this fine piece of editorial you\u2019re reading for a good few hours now. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Staying in line with our strict \u2018trying to be fair\u2019 vibes, the following three gigs are in our opinion (with strong editorial justification) the three best gigs going off this week. If you want even more, why don\u2019t ya check out our media Dad Leftlion\u2019s listings <\/span><b><a href=\"\">HERE<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Annnnddd &#8211; if you\u2019d like to see six Nottinghamshire musicians live the dream and play the most famous stage in the city, the Future Sound of Nottingham final takes place this Sunday. Free, as always. Event info <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>HERE<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">PS &#8211; those first few lines are meant to be read as sarcasm. Notts is beaut. We\u2019re just tryna be funny. Soz. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SATURDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After keeping us waiting longer than an average delivery from DPD, <\/span><b><a href=\"\">KETO<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have got an EP\u2019s worth of material out there now, which means it\u2019s time to party! So, they\u2019ve got together some of Notts\u2019 biggest party bringers to take over <\/span><b><a href=\"\">The Chameleon<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">! Well &#8211; okay party bringers may be a slight exaggeration, but they\u2019re bloody fabulous musicians, and that\u2019s all that matters. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>KETO<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, fronted by Leah Sinead make this blissful concoction of a kinda lo-fi Indie \/ Pop hybrid. They build this wall of sound, whack Leah\u2019s hauntingly beautiful vocal on top of it, and then ride it out into a motorway of spacey dreams. Ya feel me? The end result is something that\u2026 well, it can\u2019t quite be put into words. It\u2019s just really special. And now you\u2019re really curious ain\u2019t cha? So you need to pop down to see what that sensation is all about! <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Supporting we have two of Nottingham\u2019s loveliest human beings and almost more importantly, two of Nottingham\u2019s finest singer-songwriters. <\/span><b><a href=\"\">DAUDI MATSIKO<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is one of those musicians who can *CLICHE ALERT* leave the room so quiet, you could hear a pin drop. With a voice that\u2019s only really comparable to a lovely warm hug, Daudi sings about sad things and happy things, but he\u2019ll comfort you about them either way. So shut the hell up when he sings okay? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You\u2019ll start to notice a trend now &#8211; the other lovely human supporting &#8211; <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>GALLERY 47<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, is a singer-songwriter who will have you feeling the feels you didn\u2019t know you could feel. Sad feels, and happy feels. All projected on to you, by one man (with a very nice hat), a guitar, and a very soothing voicebox. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>The Chameleon<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 8pm<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Entry: \u00a35<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SATURDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Southwell lad <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>JOSEPH KNIGHT<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is releasing his debut EP at <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>Nottingham Contemporary<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> this weekend, and he\u2019s bringing a right bunch of beautiful sound makers with him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Joe writes super lovely, catchy, heart-warming at times, \u2018delighfully dismal\u2019 at others, Pop songs. Songs that\u2019ll have you going \u201cooh, that\u2019s interesting\u201d, \u201chmm, I get where this guys coming from\u201d and \u201cDO MIRRORS MAKE YOU NERVOUS\u201d&#8230; no, just me? Okay. Basically &#8211; Joe is the full package as a musician, he knows his way with words, his guitar, and writes some effin fabulous melodies. Make sure you\u2019re one of the first to get yer dirty mitts on one of those shiny new EP\u2019s, and maybe a sticker too&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>TYLER NUGENT<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be bringing his beautiful Ben Howard-esque folk vibes to the evening as one of the supports. Flat out comparisons to artists can be seen as lazy journalism, and I get that &#8211; but Tyler does sound a lot like BH, but in his own unique way. And &#8211; with a rasp to his vocal that keeps us coming back for more. He dropped his latest EP <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018Birklands\u2019<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> just a few months ago, and it\u2019s a stunning creation. We\u2019re sure it\u2019ll translate live just as well.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>MATT HUMPHRIES <\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is also on this mighty fine lineup. He\u2019s one of those guys that exists purely to make all of us mere mortals look pathetic. He\u2019s got the voice of an angel one minute, singing the biggest tear-jerker of a song you\u2019ve ever heard; then, he comes out and brings the party with some funky acoustic Pop. Dammit Matt, give the rest of us a chance\u2026 please. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AND &#8211; after Joe has finished his set, <a href=\"\"><strong>LOWRIE<\/strong><\/a> takes to the stage to deliver one of his jaw-dropping Electronic-Pop-Don\u2019t-Really-Know-What-To-Call-It sets. <a href=\"\"><strong>LOWRIE\u2019s<\/strong><\/a> vocal is out of this world (that rasp maaaaan), and the beats &#8211; well, they just make us wish we were in a smoke filled warehouse at 2 in the morning. Slightly different vibe to the Contemporary, but we\u2019re sure his performance will astound either way.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Nottingham Contemporary<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 8pm<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Entry: Free<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SUNDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>THREE GIRL RHUMBA<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are taking over <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>The Bodega <\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for a headline show, and they\u2019ve got quite the lineup to accompany them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To get the confusion out of the way, TGR are not three girls. In fact, some of you may know them as three guys &#8211; well, just to confuse things even more, it\u2019s now four guys (not five guys, that\u2019s the burger place). Now we\u2019ve done our basic numeracy &#8211; MUSIC. TGR make Alt-Indie with a sprinkling of Pop sensibility and a dose of random noises every now and again. What that translates to live is one of the most energetic, and fun performances that you\u2019ll find anywhere. There\u2019ll be plenty of dancing &#8211; rhumba probably isn\u2019t the most suitable form of dance though..<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"+april\"><b>LAUREN APRIL<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will bring a bit of a different vibe with her Pop-Country stylings. She released her debut single \u2018<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Picture on the Wall<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019 a few months ago, and within 17.5 seconds you\u2019re transported to Nashville. Simple as that &#8211; she has the Country thaaang nailed. And it\u2019s so catchy &#8211; even if you\u2019ve never listened to Country in your life, there\u2019s a pretty good chance it\u2019ll become your shower anthem for the next few weeks. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also supporting is Folk super-songwriter <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>RICHARD JENKINS<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Another fella whose voice is only comparable to really nice things like honey and\u2026 nutella. And, just like nutella, Richard\u2019s voice fits on top of multiple things rather nicely. Whether it\u2019s his sweet little acoustic tunes like \u2018<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fading Soldier<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019, or the <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>TAURTOLLO<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> remix of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018Festival Haze\u2019<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
