Whilst it may not be the weekend as you read this, here&#8217;s one thing to pull you through, there&#8217;s tons of &#8220;freakin'&#8221; awesome gigs this coming weekend!<\/p>\n<p><b>FRIDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><strong>SAME STREETS<\/strong><\/a> take over\u00a0<a href=\"\"><strong>Retro Rooms<\/strong><\/a> this Friday and they\u2019re bringing some ace supports with them too.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kicking off the evening we have the band that describe themselves as \u2018large Indie-Rock\u2019, <a href=\"\"><strong>FOULE<\/strong><\/a>. Now, we can confirm that they are definitely describing their sound and not their physical appearance, cos the impact their tunes make is massive. Melodic, yet energetic. And with some rather funky riffs too. These guys\u2019ll start the evening off in the best way.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>THE CHASE<\/strong><\/a> are up next. These hard-working gents have had a good string of gigs as of late (they\u2019ve been in the T3 multiple times since May), and we\u2019re sure this gig will carry on the theme of freakin\u2019 awesome performances. On the off chance you haven\u2019t heard of these fellas, they make an awesome concoction of Rock n Roll \/ Indie, not too far off that of <a href=\"\"><strong>SAME STREETS<\/strong><\/a>. Ahh, it\u2019s all making sense now. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>SAME STREETS <\/strong><\/a>take Rock n Roll, and some funk, and top it all off with one hell of a raspy vocal courtesy of James Gooch. They then bring it all together to make one of the best live bands going. One second you\u2019ll be idolising guitarist Jacob\u2019s sick riffs, then you\u2019ll be going mad in the pit to drummer Seb\u2019s intense percussion. And then, there\u2019s a pretty good chance you\u2019ll be singing \/ screaming \/ shouting along to one of the many awesome melodies that James throws at ya. Not in a violent way though. A loving, friendly kinda\u2026 yeah, it\u2019ll be awesome okay? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Retro Rooms<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Price: \u00a34<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 7pm<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SATURDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>IKE Productions <\/strong><\/a>have a brand new mini-festival this week, going by the name of Sweetnotes. It sees eleven ace local acts take to <a href=\"\"><strong>Rescue Rooms<\/strong><\/a> main stage &amp; <strong>Red Rooms<\/strong> to support\u2026 <strong>The Hoosiers<\/strong>\u2026 ya know, GOODBYE MR A. Those guys\u2026 yeah. Anyways, we only care about those good ode Notts acts, so lets have a chat about them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the Red Rooms, <a href=\"\"><strong>JOEY COLLINS<\/strong><\/a> will be kicking things off with his Alt-Rock inspired Acoustic vibes. He released his debut EP just a few months ago and it\u2019s bleddy awesome, so we\u2019re looking forward to seeing those tracks live! <a href=\"\"><strong>THE RUFFS<\/strong><\/a> are up next, after having just played a headline <a href=\"\"><strong>Bodega<\/strong><\/a> show this past weekend, Connor Spray and co will be tearing up Red Rooms with their swaggerful Indie. <a href=\"\"><strong>SMITH &amp; GROVES<\/strong><\/a> will chill things out a bit with their beaut Indie-Folk and stunning harmonies. <a href=\"\"><strong>BRAD MATTHEWS<\/strong><\/a>, fresh from performing out in the states will be back in good old Notts to deliver some of his Country-twanged Folk. And rounding it all off in that room of redness is\u00a0<a href=\"\"><strong>RICHARD JENKINS<\/strong><\/a>, the soulful gent who\u2019ll melt hearts and warm souls. And all those other cliches.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Over on Rescue Rooms main stage <strong><a href=\";fref=ts\">THE CHASE<\/a><\/strong> (yep, those guys again) will take to the stage first with their massive Grungy, Indie sounds. Shortly followed by <a href=\"\"><strong>THE TANGENTS<\/strong><\/a> who\u2019ll be bringing plenty of Indie swagger and tons of catchy riffs. <a href=\"\"><strong>SILVER WILSON<\/strong><\/a> will get everyone dancing with their ridiculously energetic Indie-Pop vibes, while <a href=\"\"><strong>JOSH KEMP<\/strong><\/a> will be making us all feel happy and warm inside with his \u2018super-lovely\u2019 Acoustic stylings. <a href=\";fref=ts\"><strong>THE SPECIES<\/strong><\/a> will get us all hooked on their super slick <strong>Arctic Monkeys<\/strong>-esque Indie sounds, and finishing the local loving, <a href=\"\"><strong>THE MOCKING JAYS<\/strong><\/a> will have the entirety of RR main room bouncing all over the place to their super catchy Pop-Rock. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Rescue Rooms<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Price: \u00a315<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 2pm<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SATURDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>HHYMN<\/strong><\/a> have a new album on the way, and to celebrate their throwing a launch party at <a href=\"\"><strong>Nottingham Contemporary<\/strong><\/a> this Saturday! <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>HHYMN<\/strong><\/a> are a very hard band to describe. Even the band themselves are aware of it, as the event page explains so eloquently &#8211; \u201cPinning <a href=\"\"><strong>HHYMN\u2019s<\/strong><\/a> unique yet oblique music down is as downright difficult as catching a goldfish in a swimming pool with your bare hands.\u201d Now, whilst we personally haven\u2019t tried to pin goldfish down with our bare hands, we get what they\u2019re tryna say. <a href=\"\"><strong>HHYMN<\/strong><\/a> make this beautiful, delicate creation of sound which is brimming with emotion, melody, and we\u2019re sure plenty of other things that we can\u2019t quite put into words. We advise you just get down for yourself to experience it, just please don\u2019t bring your goldfish. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Supporting we have some of the loveliest humans on the planet &#8211; <a href=\"\"><strong>MOLLY &amp; JACK<\/strong><\/a>. You\u2019d probably describe them as Acoustic-Folk if forced, but there\u2019s so much more to them than that. Beautiful harmonies that fit together like two lovers hands in a Hugh Grant rom-com. A kind of chemistry that\u2026 also is only ever found in a Hugh Grant rom-com. What\u2019s different about them compared to a Hugh Grant rom-com? More than 14.6% of the population can actually stand them.
