Photo:<\/strong> Ben Walsh.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After a super hot week of both gigs and weather last week, and a massive 48 hours for Notts musicians, I think we need a chill out\u2026 Good job we have two days to recover, then there\u2019s an Acoustic night in an Eastwood pub, a Grime filled Jam at the <a href=\"\"><strong>Conference Centre<\/strong><\/a> and a charity band night at\u00a0Mansfield\u2019s <a href=\"\"><strong>Stag and Pheasant<\/strong><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>TUESDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>Roots Acoustic<\/strong><\/a> are hosting one of their weekly nights at the <a href=\"\"><strong>Wellington Inn<\/strong><\/a> in Eastwood this Tuesday. The night brings a whole load of homegrown talent to your local pub, and it\u2019s never quite certain what you can\u00a0expect.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tuesday, you can catch <\/span><b>BEN MARK SMITH<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> who will be bringing a touch of acoustic Blues Rock. Roots regular<\/span><b> ANDREW PARR <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will be showing you what he\u2019s got Acoustic styley. And finally, <strong>DEREK<\/strong>\u00a0will be performing. Yup, <strong>DEREK.<\/strong>.. We might not know a whole lot about these artists, but they\u2019re starting out like all the big stars did. You never know, Derek may just be the next Bugg. Maybe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>The Wellington Inn, Eastwood<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tuesday 26th July<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 8pm<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tickets: Free<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>THURSDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>Summer Jam\u2019 16<\/strong><\/a> is coming to Nottingham this Thursday, bringing some of the best Urban and Grime artists from across the UK (and more importantly Nottingham) for an awesome summer\u00a0festival. Headlining are <strong>Chipmunk<\/strong>, <strong>Section Boyz<\/strong> and <strong>Geko<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>GINO <\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(or Gi Na Na No, as you may know him) will be bringing his massive energy to the evening. With a couple million YouTube views hiding under his (vast variety of) hats and over 60,000 Twitter followers, Gino is making a name for himself in the world of Grime. We hear Gi Na Na No was shooting a new music video last week, but one thing\u2019s for sure, he\u2019ll be bringing the party all night at the Summer Jam.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of Nottingham\u2019s finest MC\u2019s, <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>MEZ <\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will be spitting some of the fiercest bars Hoodtown has to offer. Holding a lot of love from <strong>1Xtra<\/strong> DJ Sian Anderson, tons of videos and sessions with <strong>SBTV<\/strong> and a Maida Vale session accompanied by a hip hop orchestra, if you haven\u2019t heard the sounds of <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>MEZ<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> already, then you\u2019re about to.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"\">DDOT<\/a>\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">has collaborated with tons of Grime artists over the past few years, showcasing his talent across a whole load of awesome projects such as Flaming from his latest EP \u2018<em>Dreams Money Can\u2019t Buy<\/em>.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hip Hop duo <\/span><b><a href=\"\">YOUNG T &amp; BUGSEY<\/a>\u00a0<\/b>will be performing on Thursday. The pair have racked up over half a million views on their YouTube channel from songs such as &#8216;<i>Glistening<\/i>\u2019 and<em style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0&#8216;Don\u2019t Know&#8217;<\/em>. Last month they invited fans to come along to the filming of their video for new single \u2018<em style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No Mickey Mouse Ting<\/em>\u2019 and some dude called <strong style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stormzy<\/strong> turned up for the ride\u2026 I think that says it all.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finally, <\/span><b>JAMEELAH<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be playing. We can\u2019t find much on her, but what we have found is pretty epic. Last October she released a music video for her song \u2018<em>No Sleep<\/em>\u2019 which involves some seriously awesome choreography from J plus her school mates and some even better sounds.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Nottingham Conference Centre<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thursday 28th July<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 5pm<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tickets: \u00a319.50<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>FRIDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Friday sees <a href=\"\"><strong>StagBandLive<\/strong><\/a> take place at the <strong>Stag and Pheasant<\/strong> over in Manny T. It sees four Notts acts take to the stage and it\u2019s all in aid of CLIC Sargent which supports children and young people with cancer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">First up is <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>RICHARD JENKINS<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\">.<\/a> Creating room silencing, heart warming sounds, the acoustic folk of RJ is further enhanced by his tight knit band. After the release of the gorgeous sounding \u2018<em>Fading Soldier<\/em>\u2019 EP last year, we can\u2019t wait to hear some new tracks from him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With a great band name and even greater hair, <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>DOOHICKEY WIRE<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are playing on Friday. Fronted by Pete Rabjohns, the band formed at Southwell Folk Festival a few years back. After it took Pete 8 years between writing his first and second song, he worked out it\u2019d take him around 100 years to write an album. Let\u2019s hope it comes quicker than that.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s been a busy few weeks for <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>SUPER FURNITURE<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, from playing <strong><a href=\"\">Rock City<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>for the <strong><a href=\"\">FSN<\/a><\/strong> final to opening up <a href=\"\"><strong>Splendour<\/strong><\/a> festival with a killer set. The SF lads only formed as a four piece late last year but have gone on to do some pretty awesome stuff (^see above, duh). Be prepared for a solid headbang to their super tight, pop-infused Indie sound.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bringing their super catchy Indie Pop Rock are <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>FOR THE GIRL<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The five-piece all bring their own style to the amalgamation that is the FTG sound. They recently launched their brand new EP \u2018<em>Shark Attack<\/em>\u2019 at the <a href=\"\"><strong>Bodega<\/strong><\/a>, which we hear featured some pretty intimidating sharks.
