PHOTO:<\/strong> Sam Lindley<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The weather might have changed its mind about being Summer but August is here and it\u2019s brought a whole ton of incredible gigs along with it. This week there are TWO co-headline shows on Friday, one at <strong><a href=\";fref=ts\">The Chameleon<\/a>,\u00a0<\/strong>one at <a href=\"\"><strong>Rough Trade<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0plus\u00a0a headline gig for a Future Bubbler at the <a href=\";ref=br_tf&amp;qsefr=1\"><strong>Contemporary<\/strong><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>FRIDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>LITTLE BRIBES <\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are one of the headliners, who formed back in 2014. They released their debut EP \u2018<em>Obstacles<\/em>\u2019 in April, which showcases their ethereal yet dense sound that varies from Punk to Emo to an almost ambient styley Rock. The band are finishing a run of summer shows with this RT\u00a0gig and say it\u2019s their last Notts gig for a while, so get down and see them while you can.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>MERRICK\u2019S TUSK<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are the other headliners, who were born back in 2013. They released their latest EP \u2018<em>Regroup and Reform<\/em>\u2019 in April with a release show alongside <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>LITTLE BRIBES<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> too. Awh, we love it when Notts bands spread the love! Channelling the early Emo scene, the band take traditional Emo but still give it a modern twist. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Support comes from <\/span><b><a href=\";fref=ts\">BLUEBIRD<\/a>\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">whose bio says \u201cemo, cheetos, pear juice.\u201d I\u2019m going to assume that means they like emos, cheetos and pear juice (which sounds delicious\u2026 not the emos. We don\u2019t tolerate cannibalism). Their combination of math rock, pop punk and emo give <a href=\";fref=ts\"><strong>BLUEBIRD<\/strong><\/a> a unique and upbeat sound.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Papayer<\/strong> from Derby (anyone know where that is?) will also be supporting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Rough Trade<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Friday 5th August<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 7pm<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Free Entry<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>FRIDAY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>AUTUMN DIET PLANS<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\";fref=ts\"><b>MANNEQUIN<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are taking on a two week co-headline tour that takes them from Leeds to the Netherlands, but most importantly, they\u2019ll be playing at <\/span><b>The Chameleon<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> this Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>AUTUMN DIET PLANS<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are doing quite well for themselves since they landed from the International Space Station, aren\u2019t they? Space must have a sick music school, maybe it\u2019s the lack of gravity. The four-piece have recently signed to <\/span><b>Homebird Records<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, impressing them with their seriously spacey grunge rock. If you wanna hear more about ADP\u2019s life before Earth then check out their Future Session <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>HERE<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\";fref=ts\"><b>MANNEQUIN <\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">might not have been to that Space Music School but gravity doesn\u2019t seem to affect their musical talent. And a mosh pit in space sounds like way too much hard work. If you wanna find out more about the band they did an \u2018In Focus\u2019 photo interview in this month\u2019s Leftlion (but heads up, they hate beans on toast??). Check out their facebook page to get your ears around some <\/span><a href=\";fref=ts\"><b>MANNEQUIN<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> music.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Support comes from <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>MAX JENNINGS <\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">who are a band\u2026 not a person. And none of them are called Max. The Mansfield based rock \/ punk \/ emo band were supposed to have their last show September 2015, but the powers of Mannequin and Autumn Diet Plans combined has managed to resurrect the band.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can also catch <\/span><b>Starwheel<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from that Derby place. Maybe it\u2019s somewhere in space and that\u2019s how they know ADP. It\u2019s all starting to make sense.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>The Chameleon Arts Cafe<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Friday 5th August<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 7.30pm<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tickets: \u00a35 OTD<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SATURDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>YAZMIN LACEY<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and her band <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>THE ECHOES<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have their first headline show at <strong>The Contemporary<\/strong> this Saturday. Yazmin is part of Brownswood and Gilles Peterson\u2019s <a href=\";fref=ts\"><strong>Future Bubblers<\/strong> <\/a>project, which essentially means that they (rightly) think she is pretty awesome. Yazmin\u2019s smooth, sultry voice combined with the soulful Jazz created by The Echoes makes for some beautiful music. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Support comes from <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>DAUDI MATSIKO<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, making heart-string-pulling music that could warm your frozen ears on a winter\u2019s day (or potentially cool them in the summer, if you\u2019re someone that gets particularly warm ears). He has recently become one of 6 Brits to be welcomed into the Red Bull Music Academy and gets to spend some time in Montreal honing his craft (if it is even possible to further hone). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can also catch <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>NATTI RUDYJ <\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(sometimes known as <a href=\"\"><strong>NATTI DREAD<\/strong><\/a>) as support.
