Photo Credit:<\/strong> Emma Richardson<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ah, the sweet sound of music &#8211; nope, not the musical, but what\u2019s happening in Notts this week of course. There&#8217;s\u00a0so much going on it\u2019s coming out of our ears (but it\u2019s not wax, that\u2019s gross) from<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>some<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"\">Bodega<\/a><\/strong> headliners to a World Music festival, there\u2019s plenty to get yersen involved with.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>WEDNESDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lets kick start with <strong><a href=\"\">Rough Trade<\/a> &#8211; <\/strong>their\u00a0monthly pick of live acts, held on the first Wednesday of every month is back, and it\u2019s got a stellar lineup yet again. This time, they have\u00a0<\/span><a href=\";fref=ts\"><b>THE MOCKING JAYS <\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">who bring the Indie Pop-Rock zest which is bound to get you singing along with catchy choruses galore. Believe us &#8211; they know how to get the crowd involved.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also performing are <\/span><b><a href=\"\">AMULET<\/a>,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0playing classic Indie with a hell load of heavenly guitar solo&#8217;s, which&#8217;ll build you up and get you hyped. You may recognise them from when they used to be <strong>JOE &amp; MIKE<\/strong>. Just when you are high enough they drop lines \u201cabout breaking hearts before the morning starts\u201d. Tut tut, naughty lads. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dropping into <strong>Rough Trade<\/strong> as well is singer\/songwriter <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>JOSH WHEATLEY<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, beautiful mellow Alternative Pop tunes that\u00a0give you all of the feels. He&#8217;s been working on plenty of new tunes, so hopefully we&#8217;ll get a sneak peak of those. Full of\u00a0catchy hooks but still\u00a0pretty peaceful, you&#8217;ll have goosebumps from his angelic voice but don\u2019t worry people, that\u2019s normal!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Rough Trade,<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wednesday 7th September,<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 7pm<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Price: FREE<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>THURSDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At <strong>The Bodega<\/strong> on Thursday you&#8217;ll find\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"\"><b>SUPER FURNITURE<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, champs of <strong><a href=\"\">#FSN2016<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0You may have seen em open the main stage of <a href=\"\"><strong>Splendour<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0earlier this year? No? Well come back out from your Narnia wardrobe and back into the real world! As <a href=\"\"><strong>Leftlion<\/strong><\/a> so rightly put it they&#8217;re \u201cfor fans of a good head bang\u201d with their alternative tunes, and they have \u201csprinklings of Indie and Math Rock\u201d too.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If that\u2019s not enough to get your fancy like Mr Tickle (yes that really is a Mr Men reference),\u00a0<\/span><b><a href=\"\">THE CHASE<\/a>\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are supporting. Nottingham born and bred these cheeky chappies from St Anns are not only very popular but extremely talented, they started back in 2007 and to give you some scope the youngest member is now sixteen, they no doubt learnt how to play before they even grew arms&#8230; maybe. Either way, they&#8217;re insanely good now.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fletcher Jackson<\/strong> from Newcastle Upon Tyne is also supporting.<\/p>\n<p><b>The Bodega<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thursday 8th September<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 7pm<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Price: \u00a34.75 online also \u00a31.50 booking fee<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SATURDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Saturday is host to The <strong><a href=\"\">Nottingham World Music Community Festival<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong>2016 sees the second of it\u2019s kind, being held in St Anns Notts. Not only is it going to be home to banging food (we\u2019ll let you get your Ramsey on for that) but, of course, more importantly &#8211; it is also home to some incredible Notts musical talent. Here are just a few of the highlights.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you love a good ole\u2019 Irish jig (lets face it, everyone does), then <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>KELLY\u2019S HEROES<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are on hand to let you get your Michael Flatley on. Legs will be flying everywhere so we do issue warning &#8211; jig at your own risk. This Nottingham based, traditional Irish and Celtic Folk band have an accordion and a bodhran (that\u2019s Irish for drum apparently) on hand to make you feel even more like you are in the *STEREOTYPE ALERT* homeland of Guinness, so bring your dancing shoes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"\">NOTTINGHAM SCHOOL OF SAMBA<\/a>\u00a0<\/b>(NSOS)\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are also on the list of performers, so get ready to bring your carnival moves all over again. The vibrant drumming group has been working in the city bringing blissful beats for over twenty\u00a0years, playing a variety of tunes from traditional Brazilian samba all the way to some funky Hip-Hop and Drum and Bass anthems. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>BLESSING MAGORE<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0is on hand for all\u00a0your Afro-Funk needs. Fancy a bit of Reggae?\u00a0He knows his way round that too. In fact, Blessing\u00a0is prepared to deliver everything you could ever need to get in the BEST of moods. Take those dancing skills you learnt from NSOS, and get on the flooooooor!
