Photo Credit:<\/strong> Julian Hughes<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Autumn may be on its way, and the leaves might be going brown soon, but the music is not, it\u2019s staying pretty damn hot in Hoodtown, and not at all feces looking. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This week is jam-packed and see\u2019s a charity fundraiser bash, an agency launch party (yup!) and The Great Notts Show 2016 all in one week. So basically there\u2019s something for every man and his\/her dog, so you\u2019re gonna be pretty busy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>THURSDAY &#8211; SUNDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This weekend sees the return of The Great Notts show in the Old Market Square. There\u2019s some cracking line ups courtest of <a href=\"\"><strong>I\u2019m Not From London<\/strong><\/a>, and they\u2019re spread across four whole days! So, here\u2019s a little glimpse at the Notts headliners of each&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thursdays headline act is <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>IVORYSERFS<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> whose hobbies include \u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">watching paint that&#8217;s already dry and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">racing the elderly\u201d so maybe they don\u2019t have the most interesting social life, but their music does not reflect that in the slightest. It\u2019s Punk Indie, which is proper Psychedelic too. If Woodstock and Reading Fest ever decided to reproduce together (one can hope) these four would be the kiddies of the consummation, probably.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Friday has <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>SEA MONSTER EYES <\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">take the main stage<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, they\u2019ve defo been in the blender, genre wise I mean, cos they mix up Funk, Jazz and all means of other things. Debut Album <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cGarlic\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8230; yes, garlic, is scheduled to be released this October and we\u2019re expecting some more stuff for our genre blender. One thing is for sure, at least we know they\u2019re not vampires!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>WHISKY STAIN <\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are the Saturday headlines, they recently released their new single <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cDenial\u201d <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">which has some epic heavy drums and guitar so you\u2019ll be head banging until you break your neck&#8230; \u00a0well hopefully not, but you get the point. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Their music can go from \u201cbass driven dance influenced stompers\u201d to \u201cblues drenched guitar based thrillers\u201d so, yeah, try and keep that head on your shoulders if you can.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Get ready for some energetic Indie pop cos Sunday&#8217;s closing act <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>SILVER WILSON<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be bringing that to the table dontcha know. The boys mix classic Indie and guitars with some Electro making it \u201cdanceable guitar Indie Pop\u201d and that it is. Don\u2019t worry about making a fool of yourself in the Market Square \u2018cus we\u2019ll all be doing it. Just close your eyes and feel the vibes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Old Market Square<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thursday 22nd September &#8211; Sunday 25th September<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 11:00am everyday<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Price: FREE<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>FRIDAY <\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A selection of Notts artists are hitting up <\/span><b><a href=\"\">Rough Trade<\/a>\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">all in the name charity &#8211; <a href=\"\"><strong>Crisis<\/strong><\/a> charity to be precise. Helping fight the fight against homelessness, they have an ace lineup of Notts musicians&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Straight talking Hucknall boys <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>THE RUFFS<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are playing the event demonstrating their Rock n Roll Indie tunes,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> fronted by Connor Spray the group have a unique Indie sound. They are experts at moving from Classic Indie to Swaggerful anthems plus they know how to get you all riled up like wild animals too which is always fun, don\u2019t know if I\u2019d recommend bringing Granny Annie along with ya though.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The widely travelled <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>NICK ASLAM <\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is also playing; WARNING &#8211; Nick\u2019s songs are so contagious you\u2019ll be sneezing out his catchy Indie Folk lyrics for the next few weeks\u2026 you might have to explain to your boss in your morning meetings why you keep repeating \u201cNIGHT TRAAAAAAIN\u201d in your best Aslam nasal drawl.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Easy Listening Clifton duo<a href=\"\"><strong> SMITH &amp; GROVES<\/strong><\/a><\/span><b>\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are giving us their Folk inspired tracks too, mellow sing along peaceful songs with a hint of harmonica, these guys will soothe your soul a tad. I<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">f that\u2019s not enough to bring you down for a great cause then you are a cold hearted fiend my friend!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Rough Trade<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Friday 23rd September,<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 6pm<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Price: \u00a37 online booking<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SATURDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>RAPHAEL BLAKE<\/strong><\/a> is heading to <\/span><b>Rough Trade <\/b>on Saturday<b> <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for the launch of his Creative Agency \u2018It\u2019s More Than Poetry. And, of course, he\u2019s bringing along some beautiful Notts music with him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>RB<\/strong><\/a> will of course take to the stage himself &#8211; Blake\u2019s material is enigmatic and he\u2019s recently been called \u201cNottingham&#8217;s spoken word prodigy\u201d which is a pretty big shout from <\/span><b>Clash<\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He\u2019s master of wordplay and emotion, he brings intimacy and \u201che won\u2019t be the poet you\u2019re diluting today\u201d so he\u2019s also someone who shouldn\u2019t be messed with, which we totally agree with.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Supporting Blake is <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>TREKKAH<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the well loved <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">instrumentalist and vocalist who has such an eclectic mix of tunes. Mostly Electronic led, one minute he\u2019s doing minimalistic Electronic pop, the next, Reggae feel good shizzle. He\u2019ll be back at RT himself next month for his debut album launch, so get an early taster while you can! <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>DAISY GODFREY <\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will be popping in to<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> show off her incredibly soulful vocal talents, which she does so well. Daisy\u2019s a bit of a spine tingler, a soulful gem and sultry dream all rolled into one joyous musical pancake. Her towering voice is captivating alongside her guitarist, who she\u2019s recently celebrated writing music with for four years! <\/span><\/p>\n<p>Plus, we hear there&#8217;s many more artists to be confirmed.
