Photo Credit:<\/strong> Unknown<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s that time of year &#8211; the Goose was here, but now it\u2019s gone but Notts music lives on\u2026 rhyming wizard here, not at all lame. It\u2019s kicking off again this week in our epic city of musical goodness so prepare your ears for another week of awesome listening, your eyes for more beautiful Notts sights and your fingers\u2026 okay maybe not your fingers.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There\u2019s an EP launch at the <a href=\"\"><strong>Bodega<\/strong><\/a>, a quirky music and arts festival in Beeston and a wicked headline show at the <strong><a href=\"\">Rescue Rooms<\/a>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SATURDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <strong>NME<\/strong> love \u2018em (\u201cangsty anthems\u201d), we love \u2018em, and so do you guys. So you\u2019ll be happy to know that this Saturday brings us <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>BABE PUNCH\u2019S<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> EP launch at <\/span><b>The Bodega<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Don\u2019t we all feel a lil angsty especially with the recent economic climate? Or yeah whatever. The Alt Rock gurus had a busy summer playing festivals, including a last minute, epic slot at Splendour, and now they\u2019re finally giving us some raw, tangible music which we can blast on iTunes (if it doesn\u2019t crash) a billion times.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They\u2019ve also got a Notts support act &#8211; <\/span><b><a href=\"\">CAMERON SINCLAIR HARRIS<\/a>, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">singer song-writer who you might know as former front man of the now finished <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>FLEETS<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Bringing us the same sorta vibes but with a acoustic, heartfelt lyrical feel. A one man and his guitar feeling, not to be confused with 2 girls and a guitar or one man and his cup.H<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">e\u2019s got a proper lively\/lovely stage presence, the typa guy you\u2019ll probably wanna take home to your mum but not if I get there first cus my mums proper keen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also supporting are Derby band <\/span><b>Unqualified Nurse Band <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and Sheffield band <\/span><b>Vultures<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>The Bodega<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Saturday 15th October<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Price: \u00a35.75 online booking<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors:\u00a07pm<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SATURDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>Oxjam<\/strong><\/a> is back &#8211; after raising a massive \u00a317,050 last year for <strong>Oxfam<\/strong> (funny that), the festival is here again with a super eclectic line up. Covering a mega sixteen venues from a Methodist Church, to pubs and bars all in the Beeston vicinity. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here\u2019s a mini preview of just SOME of the acts playing. Well &#8211; acapella harmony band <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>OLDISH SPICE <\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">have you covered<\/span><b>, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Folk music played by 10 spicy men. Spicy Folk &#8211; think a carrot wearing a sombrero only slicker and more Notts like. The guys formed in 2011 when they all met at <strong>The West Bridgford Social Singers Club<\/strong> but have now decided to brave it on their own. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Singer\/Songwriter\/Guitarist\/nicest human on planet earth &#8211; \u00a0<\/span><a href=\"\"><b>JOSH KEMP <\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is also playing the event with his soft silky vocals. His music kinda caressers the ears, and other places&#8230; With his loop pedal his music rivals that of any band, playing a tonne of finger picking greatness on his guitar. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>JASMIN ISAAKA <\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is gonna be there too, playing her<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jazzy, Folky Souly sauce, her powerful voice and soulful acoustica make her well worth ya time not to mention her music\u2019s proper &#8216;sweet like honey&#8217; and her tunes will &#8216;stick like honey&#8217; too.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Various venues in Beeston<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Saturday 15th October<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Price: \u00a38 early bird from Oxfam Books &amp; Music, \u00a310 on the day<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: Different for each venue, earliest is 1pm<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SATURDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Rescue Rooms<\/strong>\u00a0on Sat is all about <\/span><b><a href=\"\">GEORGIE<\/a>; <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">her first headline show with her new band celebrating the release of debut single \u2018<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Company of Thieves\u2019<\/span><\/i><b>. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Having recently signed to <strong>Columbia Records<\/strong>, she recorded the single in Virginia (ya know, the usual) and it\u2019s bloody awesome. She&#8217;s doing this warmup show in the Red Rooms pre her two massive support tours with <a href=\"\"><strong>JAKE BUGG<\/strong><\/a> and <strong>Blossoms<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">G&#8217;s voice is relentless and moving at the same time, proclaiming \u201cdid I come to your flat with a sign on my back saying screw me over?&#8221;&#8230; you tell &#8217;em girl! Her music is powerful and full of purpose, the Mansfield gal has got it going ON.
