Photo Credit: <\/strong>Simon Parfrement.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a few weeks, there may just be a big, blonde, orange man in charge of the USA, and it may just be the worst thing to happen in American history, which may cause the world to implode AND you\u2019ve not even sorted out your Halloween costume yet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BUT, don\u2019t worry yersen too much cos there\u2019s always so much musical awesomeness going on in Notts, you probably won\u2019t even notice the world crumbling around you. This week, <a href=\"\"><strong>The Maze<\/strong><\/a> have got it all goiiiing on!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>WEDNESDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Starting off this week, Notts lads <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>HARKEN<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are finishing up their UK tour at <\/span><b>The Maze. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The tour saw them go all over the place with the proper heartfelt headbanger vibes. They have a heavy sorta <strong>Enter Shikari<\/strong>-esque sound, mashed with <\/span><b>Green Day&#8217;s<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> energy and stage presence. These guys are the perfect mix and make their own completely unique sound, thanks to \u00a0their heart string grabbing lyrics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Supporting the band are <strong>Fallen to Flux<\/strong> from L town and <strong>Mark the Skyline<\/strong> from Guildford.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>The Maze<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wednesday 26th October<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Price: \u00a36 online booking,<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 7pm<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>THURSDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To get your quirky Alt-Pop fix, <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>MAKE A HALO <\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is having a single launch celebrating the release of \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I\u2019m Not a Serial Killer<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d at <\/span><b>The Maze<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and you\u2019re all invited. He\u2019s even bought a new guitar for the event and named it\u2026<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Squier J.Mascis Jazzmaster. A rare peculiar name to say the least.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Henry started up the one-man band back in 2013 and since has made songs such as <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe Last Dinosaur\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> where he basically transforms himself into a T-Rex \u201cTy-rann-osaur, 23ft tall, BBQ\u2019s and rollerskating is what I was made for\u201d &#8211; a true eclectic lyrical genius for you there and let us not forget <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cListen to the Frog\u201d <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">where he steps us into the mind of a frog \u201cI\u2019m a frog that just looks like a stone, go away and leave me alone.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I can\u2019t help but wonder if his new single \u201c<em>Serial Killer<\/em>\u201d may take us to a deeper and darker place maybe\u2026 or it may be about cereal. We really don\u2019t know. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Supporting on the night are <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>THE KILLER BEES <\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">bringing<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> their classic Rhythm and Blues sound of \u201ctoe tapping magic\u201d, which is sure to get ya jigging the night away. The band features two excellent musicians and performers, drumming guru Ben Farnsworth and epic guitarist Raphael Achache whose energy is infectious.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>The Maze<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thursday 27th October<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Price: \u00a33<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 7pm<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SATURDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>HARLEIGHBLU<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is heading to <\/span><b>The Maze <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">on Saturday, with her distinctive and raw, soulful sounds. Not only has her music been picked up a massive amount of times by <\/span><b>1Xtra<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, but she been hailed as \u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A raw talent\u2026 with a voice that pours soul in unfeigned torrents\u201d by <\/span><b>Q magazine<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Oooer &#8211; she\u2019s doing alright for hersen basically. With her old school jams like \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sittin\u2019 by the Window\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> raging us to better ourselves and get off our arses and new tracks like \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reverse<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d taking us back to that crappy relationship where your boyf liked your cat way more than you. Her tracks and performances are intense, sweet and relatable. And she can get ya booty moving too. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">First support comes from <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>94 GUNSHIPS <\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">who hail that they are \u201cable to sing along and clap their hands like excited three years olds off their tits on percy pigs\u201d which is quite confusing cos they surely are gonna be the ones playing the music right? When they aren\u2019t acting like three year olds the band bring to the table a grizzly sorta funky, heartfelt, Blues Rock. If they can be jammed into a generic genre then that\u2019s probably the one that suits them most. And they promise ya a root tooting good time. Good words. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>ROB GREEN<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is also gonna be there, you lucky devils you. Rob&#8217;s voice is kinda hard to pin point too, he hits all the notes in all the riiiiiight places. Super slick, super soulful and super catchy. He\u2019s recently started \u201ccrashing into people\u2019s living rooms and brings a whole lot of party\u201d Going into people&#8217;s houses and giving them a private gig!? Yep. If you didn\u2019t think he was the nicest guy on planet earth than you deffo do now, right?
