Photo Credit: Georgia Richards<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s the middle of November. Yes. Middle. Of. Freakin&#8217;. November. Where has this year gone? Maybs it&#8217;s cos we&#8217;ve been enjoying the incredible New Notts Music so much, we haven&#8217;t realised\u00a0the world going past us. Anyways, let&#8217;s carry on that trend &#8211; three awesome Notts gigs coming your way&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><b>FRIDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>THE VARLETTS<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have a headline show at <\/span><a href=\";fref=ts\"><b>The Lofthouse<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> this Friday, and they\u2019re bringing two new bands with \u2018em too. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>THE VARLETTS <\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are a very new band (not to be confused with the similarly named Notts band from the early 2010\u2019s), who make a distortion-fuelled Alt-Rock that makes us wanna throw our fists in the sky and get a little bit crazy too. A bit grungy, but also very melodic. They cite their influences as <\/span><b>The Cribs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> plus <\/span><b>The Wytches<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and ya can defo hear the influence. But they have defo made their own mark on the sound. A kind of smoky, hazy, grungy mark.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>TRADE FLOOR<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are supporting. This is their debut gig, and, searching for em unfortunately brings us up against some of Notts\u2019 finest flooring suppliers. The description we have managed to find for them, well, it definitely intrigues us &#8211; \u201cPost Punk meets Jazz meets Pop meets Noise\u201d. Sounds pretty ace dont it?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also supporting are <\/span><b>DIM BULBS<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, another band who describe themselves so well, I\u2019m just gonna let them do it &#8211; \u201cDB are Melvins-worshipping noise-rock trio\u201d. Now assuming they\u2019re talking about the band, and not one of their mates called Melvin &#8211; we\u2019re very excited to hear how these musical concoctions sound live.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>The Lofthouse<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Friday 18th November<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Price: \u00a33<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 10pm (yurrrp, 10pm)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SATURDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>MOWBECK<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are headlining <\/span><a href=\";fref=ts\"><b>The Bodega<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> this weekend, and they\u2019re bringing along fellow Notts badasses <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>TUSK<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for the ride. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>MOWBECK<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> describe their music as Grit-pop, which, to say it\u2019s a genre unique to them, gives ya a pretty good idea of what to expect. Super catchy pop melodies (when ya first hear <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018Talkabout\u2019<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, you\u2019re gonna be singing it for daaaays), sprinkled with\u2026 well, grit. Ya know, a bit of edge, crunchy guitars, plenty of distortion &#8211; and rock out skills like some of the mega stars in Rock music. Things to expect: massive singalongs, a good mosh pit or two, and probs some bloke who attempts a crowd surf. Probs. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>TUSK<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, despite only forming early 2016 already sound like they\u2019ve been in the game for years. Making a kind of Indie \/ Alt-Rock hybrid, they almost always have us wishing we could be as cool as them. Since debut single \u2018<em>Dull Ache<\/em>\u2019 was released earlier in the year, they\u2019ve been putting out an incredibly diverse mix of songs &#8211; all of which sound destined for massive stages. Check out their <strong><a href=\"\">Future Session<\/a><\/strong>, if ya want to see how they mix the vibe up.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>AND &#8211; just at the last minute. Electronic maestro <a href=\"\"><strong>TRAY ELECTRIC<\/strong><\/a> has been added to the bill. Spacey, bloopy, electronic goodness to set the night off just right. Ace.<\/p>\n<p><b>The Bodega<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Saturday 19th November<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Price: \u00a35<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 7pm<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SUNDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\";fref=ts\"><b>THE INVISIBLE ORCHESTRA <\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are back for another epic show. This time &#8211; to celebrate the vinyl launch of their incredible debut album \u2018<em>Champagne Taste, Lemonade Money<\/em>\u201d. If you\u2019re unfamiliar with the TIO &#8211; they are, funnily enough an orchestra, and anything but invisible. There\u2019s bloody loads of them &#8211; some of Notts\u2019 finest musicians, all coming together with some of Notts\u2019 finest vocalists, to put on one of the most epic shows that you\u2019ll ever see. The venue is secret (ooh) and there\u2019s only 150 tix, so make sure you get on<\/span><a href=\"\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> iiiit quick time<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Support comes from Future Bubbler <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>YAZMIN LACEY &amp; THE ECHOES<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The Notts soulstress with one heck of a voice &#8211; plus her new, also rather awesome band. It features tons of Notts MC\u2019s, \/ singers who will be performing original music for the production. Oh, and apparently Prince Harry is well excited about it too.
