Photo Credit:<\/strong>\u00a0Unknown<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Can\u2019t quite believe I\u2019m writing these words down on electronic paper, but somehow, this week we enter December. Bloody \u2018ell. Mental init?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now whether you\u2019ve had your crimbo jumpers out since November 1st, or you\u2019re a bit more of a Scrooge, there\u2019 plenty of New Notts Music to embrace, or combat that festive spirit. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>WEDNESDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>JOSH KEMP<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has a beaut new single out there, and to celebrate, he\u2019s throwing a launch party at <a href=\"\"><strong>Rough Trade<\/strong> <\/a>with a bunch of ace Notts muso\u2019s.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re unfamiliar with Josh, he\u2019s one of the most charismatic musicians you\u2019ll ever meet. Often found with a guitar and loop pedal (this show however, features full band!), he\u2019ll blow your mind with super catchy fast-paced jams, and pull at your heart-strings with some of the sweetest ballad\u2019s you ever did hear. And, if the beaut music doesn\u2019t win you over, the fact he holds award for \u201cmost charming human on the planet ever\u201d probably will.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There\u2019s a super strong support lineup kicking things off too. <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>GEORGE GADD <\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is up first. Well, actually, the artist name this time is <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>GEORGE GADD DUO<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Ooh, maybe he\u2019s genetically copied himself? That\u2019d be awesome. We\u2019d love two of the same human making awesome Folky sounds\u2026 or, ya know, maybs he\u2019s just got someone else performing with him\u2026 WHO KNOWS &#8211; we\u2019re sure it\u2019ll be awesome though.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Next up is \u201cleave the room pin-drop silent-er\u201d <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>BILLIE<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Having just released her debut EP (chilling alongside the likes of <\/span><b>Ed Sheeran<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the iTunes singer-songwriter charts, dontcha know), she\u2019s been stunning humans around the shire with her spine-tingling acoustic vibes. Honest and delicate songwriting &#8211; the type that really speaks to ya, plus one of the most incredible voices we\u2019ve heard means that <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>BILLIE<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, well, she\u2019ll probably have ya breaking down mid song. But be quiet, yeah?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finally, pre Mr Kemp, we have <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>JOSEPH KNIGHT<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, another one of those humans that\u2019s really annoying cos they seem to be good at everything. A silky smooth voice, ridiculously catchy hooks, plus an on-stage persona that you want to hug as much as ya do idolise. And he\u2019s only in his late teens. God sake Joe, stop it. If ya want your heart-strings well and truly torn, have a look at his latest vid for \u2018<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hold Onto Me<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019. I won\u2019t say more than that.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Rough Trade<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wednesday 30th November<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 7pm<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Price: Free<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>FRIDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>Friday Club Presents<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are back at<\/span><a href=\"\"><b> Retro Rooms <\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">with some of Notts\u2019 finest Indie bands. For a Christmas shindig\u2026 at least it\u2019s in December! <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>PAPER SHOP DAVE<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> kick things off with their diverse Indie-stylings. I appreciate diverse can be a bit of a naff term, but we really mean it with these guys. Their most recent single <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018Reappear\u2019<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> shows a much softer, delicate sound to the band. Whereas some of their previous singles have been proper in your face Indie bangers. And frontman George has some sick jumpers. Oh my god, maybe he\u2019ll wear a Christmas jumper?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\";ref=br_tf\"><b>AMULET<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are up next with their riff-tastic sounds. After the many months of us being in love with their single <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018Temptress\u2019<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, we still haven\u2019t heard any new music from them. Sad face. BUT &#8211; we reckon that\u2019s because they\u2019ve been crafting some huge new tunes, locked in a musical warehouse in the middle of Mansfield\u2026 maybe. We have no idea if that\u2019s true. We hope it is. That\u2019d be nice\u2026 the new music we mean.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>THE TANGENTS<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are also on board to keep ya hooked in with some super-catchy hooks. We first heard \u2018<em>Fall Apart<\/em>\u2019 a good year or so ago, and we still find ourselves wondering down Pelham Street shouting \u201cWE JUST FALLL APARHHHHT\u201d&#8230; the Big Issue guy has stopped talking to me now. No wonder. Anyways, they have some proper catchy tunes, and like everyone on this bill, will leave ya with proper guitar skillz envy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finally &#8211; we have <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>CADETS<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. I remember the first time we received one of their demos, early 2013 I reckon, called \u2018<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deep Red Eyes<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019, and it proper had us hooked in with their unique approach to Indie-Rock. Three years later, and they\u2019ve proper refined their sound. We reckon they\u2019ll round the night off in suitable Indie-Rockstar style. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Retro Rooms<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Friday 2nd December<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 7pm<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Price: Free<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>SATURDAY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Notts &#8211; you\u2019re really knocking the \u2018bah, humbug\u2019 out of us. We have another Christmas party full of Notts music on Saturday, and it\u2019s looking like a proper fun one. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hard Rock Metal-ers <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>BECKON LANE<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are hosting it \/ headlining it. So at the end of the night ya can expect a high-energy mosh-tacular, but, before ya get there, you\u2019ve got a whole day worth of beaut music to get through. From the riff-lords of <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>PATRIOT REBEL<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to the Prog-instrumental brilliance of<\/span><a href=\"\"><b> THE PARALLAX METHOD<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, there\u2019s plenty of high energy awesomeness to keep ya going through the day. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If ya feel ya need a rest from the amps turned up to eleven, there\u2019s an acoustic stage too. On that stage you\u2019ll find all manner of beaut Acoustic sounds, from <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>LISA DE&#8217;VILLE\u2019s<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Alt-Folk sounds, to <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>CONFYDE\u2019s<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> stripped down Alt-Rock. *CLICHE ALERT* there\u2019s a little something for everyone. And, it\u2019s only a fiver.
