And it\u2019s a bit warm outside too. Yay. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>TUESDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kicking off the week is Confetti\u2019s new music night held at ye olde ship <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>The Bodega<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, it\u2019s all run by the live and technical events students and features some of Confetti\u2019s freshest talent. The last one was such a success they\u2019ve come back for another one! Headlining the affair is <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>LITTLE BRIBES<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a kind of Punk, kind of Post-Hardcore outfit, fronted by <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>GEORGE GADD<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, that are sure to get you moving in ways you didn\u2019t know possible. After a bonkers 2016 doing a headline tour all over the UK, they\u2019ve been tucked away in the studio for a while and are psyched to get some new material out there in the world. And they\u2019re sure to set off a party too! <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Support comes from some of Confetti\u2019s finest. Including the stunning Singer-Songwriter sounds of <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>BETH JOWETT<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, some proper in your face Alt-Rock vibes courtesy of <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>THE SMALL PRINT<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, plus drums\u2026 lots and lots of drums from <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>LUKE HALLAM<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>The Bodega<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tuesday 21st March<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Price: Free<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 7pm<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SATURDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I\u2019m really sorry to say that you\u2019re gonna have to choose between two really really great gigs. There\u2019s no getting away from the linear way that time works, annoyingly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the <a href=\"\"><strong>Contemporary<\/strong><\/a>, they are marking the end of International Women\u2019s month (which should really be every month shouldn\u2019t it) with a fabulous female showcase full of incredibly talented women. The indescribable <strong>Chai Larden<\/strong> from London will be headlining (I really can\u2019t describe her). Preceding that will be the honey sweet <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>I AM STARZ<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; this girl has such an incredibly unique voice &#8211; I\u2019m going to describe her sound as Atmos-Pop, but with R&amp;B tinges. Also performing will be <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>ONKAUR<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">; having released \u2018<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">First Run<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019 EP last year, she has been a little quiet on the originals front so it\u2019ll be ace to see her with some new material. With soulful vocals that meander around, then cut up chatter in a kind of <\/span><b>Kate Nash<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> style, then the smoothest R&amp;B with echoes of <\/span><b>Stevie Wonder<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, this woman has everything. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Following her up is the uber talented <\/span><a href=\"\"><strong>CHLOE RODGERS<\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, winner of Notts Factor 2016, with a delicious blend of Pop and Folk. She sounds a bit like <\/span><b>Corinne Bailey Rae<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, but a proper Notts version. <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>KELSEY SHAW<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0is up next, and believe us &#8211; she has the voice of an angel. With songs that have a brilliant open and resonant sound to them, she also walks the Pop Folk line, with some songs that tinkle along in the Folk like manner, to some more upbeat Poppier ones with <\/span><b>Florence and the Machine<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> sounds underpinning it all. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Nottingham Contemporary<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Saturday 25th March<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Price: Free Entry<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 8pm<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SATURDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>CAMERON SINCLAIR-HARRIS<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is having his long awaited EP launch at his favourite venue, <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>The Chameleon<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and it\u2019s set to be a stonker of a night. Describing himself on the event as a \u2018professional string breaker\u2019, which is very true but also underselling himself horrendously so I\u2019ll do it for him. If you didn\u2019t catch his FS then absolutely do. With songs ranging from heartbreak to how the government fucking sucks, his vocals go from meek to bold and brash and his guitar work, well, as previously mentioned, is guitar breaking. You\u2019ll cry, you\u2019ll get angry, you\u2019ll feel a lot of emotions, in a great way.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Supporting is <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>GEORGE GADD<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (you lucky thing, you get to see him twice in one week). With sweet guitar melodies and soaring vocals, you\u2019ll feel fully uplifted after watching this here dude. He also has a song called <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018Milhouse\u2019<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which is probably a Simpsons reference which is just great. He recently released his \u2018<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Better Shape\u2019<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> EP which is a real stand up collection of songs, from Indie Punk to swooning acoustic tinklers. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>PUTIN AND THE DOLPHIN<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will come along with their ukelele and guitar and make us all really happy with their charming songs. Angelic voices that fit together like pieces of a puzzle, they are like a Notts version of <\/span><b>First Aid Kit,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and they\u2019re best friends which is so so lovely. They\u2019ll bring a smile to your face and make you wanna hug someone\u2026 maybe bring someone to hug.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>FRAZER QUINN<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is coming all the way from Long Eaton, with Blues and Folk sounds to soothe your soul.
