Now the clocks are going forward, it leaves you no excuse to not get yourself down to three great gigs happening this week. There\u2019s a single launch at Acoustic Rooms<\/strong><\/a>, a celebration of Notts at The Maze<\/strong><\/a> and some Folky goodness at Sobar<\/strong><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

MONDAY<\/b><\/p>\n

Not only is Monday International Whisky Day (get your glasses and cigars at the ready), it is also the launch of <\/span>ALICE ROBBINS<\/b><\/a>\u2019<\/a> single \u2018Hope is a Walking Dream<\/em>\u2019 at Acoustic Rooms. The West Bridgford gal, who you might know as SAL<\/strong><\/a>, has a voice that will send shivers down your spine. Good job you\u2019ll have that whisky to warm you up, ey.<\/span><\/p>\n

You can also catch <\/span>FRAZER QUINN<\/b><\/a> coming from Long Eaton. He\u2019ll be bringing you Indie Folky Blues, perfect to sip your Whisky to. You might have caught him play last week at CAMERON SINCLAIR HARRIS’<\/strong><\/a> EP launch. If you didn\u2019t, there are no excuses this time.<\/span><\/p>\n

You can also catch <\/span>Rory Cannon<\/b> from Doncaster and <\/span>Dan Wright<\/b> from Leicester.<\/span><\/p>\n

This week\u2019s Notts in a Nutshell<\/strong> <\/a>sees <\/span>WEEKEND ON MERCURY <\/b><\/a>take to the Maze<\/strong> stage. The band formed in 2015, taking influence from everything 90s (although probs not the Spice Girls), expect some explosive energy.<\/span><\/p>\n

You can also catch <\/span>CROOKED SMILE<\/b><\/a>, who will be celebrating their first gig in bloody ages! They\u2019ll be bringing tons of enthusiasm, and all the Rock & Roll \u00a0goodness ya could ever ask for to the Maze<\/strong> Stage.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bittershax<\/b> and <\/span>Angry Grandad<\/b> from Derbyshire will also be playing.<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m Not From London<\/strong><\/a> and Sobar<\/strong> present Wire and Wool this Friday. There\u2019ll be comedy, shorts, poets and visuals for you to discover.<\/span><\/p>\n

Alongside all of that, you can catch <\/span>PUTIN AND THE DOLPHIN<\/b><\/a>. As well as having possibly the best (and strangely thought-provoking) band name out there, the two best friends can harmonise like no other, only adding to the depth of their beaut lyrics.<\/span><\/p>\n

THE EDI JOHNSTON BIT<\/b><\/a> will be playing some of his hilarious and clever songs, that are sure to give you a good giggle. He\u2019s got songs about Trump and making crucial life decisions using Rock Paper Scissors. And tea. There’s a great song about tea.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
