Photo Credit:<\/strong> Unknown<\/p>\n<p><strong>UPDATE: <a href=\"\">THE DANDYLIONS<\/a><\/strong> have confirmed to us they are no longer playing on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Happy Hay Fever season! If you\u2019re trying to read this through outbursts of sneezing with watery eyes, I sympathise with you entirely. This week there\u2019s a proper range of gigs going on. AND they\u2019re all for free. There\u2019s a showcase of three of <a href=\"\"><strong>Rough Trade\u2019s<\/strong> <\/a>fave Notts acts, an album launch in Warsop and an EP launch at the <a href=\"\"><strong>Contemporary<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><b>WEDNESDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Triple Bill is back at Rough Trade and you could say it\u2019s a bit of an eclectic mix&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You\u2019ll probably know <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>SOFT GIRLS AND BOYS CLUB<\/b><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">as Webbo and the Soft Boys (they\u2019ve had to change their name for copyright issues). Their trippy Psychedelic soundscape with elements of sounds from the 60s with a modern air reminiscent of <\/span><b>Tame Impala<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>ALICE SHORT<\/b><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will be bringing her incredible spoken word to RT. Alice has just announced she\u2019s releasing a 4 track EP called \u2018Lo-Fi for Old Times &#8211; Vol 1.\u2019 All the tracks will be recorded on a tape recorder which will strip back Alice\u2019s performances into their original pure, raw state.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On first look, <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>THE DANDYLIONS<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> seem like a pretty average band. Oh wait, pink and yellow lycra, leg warmers and wrestling masks probably ain&#8217;t your standard band, are they? Their stage presence and charisma will get you moving like a bouncy ball with 70s inspired Glam Rock with high notes that defy the laws of physics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Rough Trade<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wednesday 7th June<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 7pm<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Entry: Free<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>FRIDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>PRETTY BABS<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are launching their debut album \u2018Grafitti Lights\u2019 at The Black Market Venue in Warsop. They chose this venue as it\u2019s like their second home, where they first practiced and gigged. Despite only forming last year, the band have already made enough material to make an album filled with Rock and an almost Springsteen esque vocal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Support comes from fellow Warsopians <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>THE STAR BOTHERERS<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The duo make a sort of folky, spoken wordy sorta, tongue in cheek, sometimes a bit political ISH music with dry lyrics, a guitar, bass and drums. You\u2019re just gonna have to listen for yourselves if you want a better description, okay?!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can also catch<\/span> <a href=\"\"><b>SPUD<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a \u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">5 panel, Jogger wearing, dope smoking, folk singer from Notts with a bit of punk thrown in.\u201d He\u2019s got songs about Robin Hood and one called \u2018Chocolate Biscuit.\u2019 He\u2019s definitely a proper Notts lad.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also supporting are <\/span><b>Fiona\u2019s Run<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from Derbyshire, <\/span><b>Formerly Butt Lane<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>Fast Car to Florence<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>The Black Market Venue, Warsop<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Friday 9th June<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 7pm<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Entry: Free<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SATURDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>STACEY MCMULLEN<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is releasing his debut EP this week and is having a party at <a href=\"\"><strong>The Contemporary<\/strong><\/a> to celebrate. Stacey\u2019s music doesn\u2019t stick to one genre, the EP \u2018I Wait\u2019 takes influence from celtic, blues, samba and flamenco and that\u2019s just a small picking of what he\u2019s got to offer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Support comes from <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>BENJAMIN ZIEC<\/b><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">who you\u2019ll probs recognise as being <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>TREKKAH<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Benjamin\u2019s acoustic performances consist of catchy, boppy Folk with a sprinkle of Reggae. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>THE GIRL AND THE STONE<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will also be supporting. Made up of Will and Kym, the duo came together last year after bonding over afternoon tea and their love for each other\u2019s vocals.
