Think you\u2019ll need a nice cool pint or three to cool you down. D\u2019ya know what goes down well with a nice cool pint? Some really bloody good local music to soothe your sunburnt ears. Good job there\u2019s three amazing gigs this week then.<\/p>\n<p><b>WEDNESDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wednesday sees the first Polygon Alternative Music night take place at Spanky\u2019s and it\u2019s definitely kicking off with a strong af line up.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Get your head banging helmets at the ready (safety first kids), first up are <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>SUPER FURNITURE<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The band\u2019s funk filled, groove feeling, Indie Rock alongside their captivatingly expressive performance makes for an incredible live set.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re in need of an Indie Pop banger, look no further than the <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>VEGA BAY<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> boys. Their uplifting and insanely catchy, euphoric sound is perfect for all this hot weather. It\u2019s a good job you held onto those head banging helmets too, you\u2019ll probs need them for these and all.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>THE VARLETTS<\/b><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will be playing their 7894th gig of the year at Spanky\u2019s. They\u2019re a busy bunch of bees, constantly gigging and working on new material. Their new single \u2018Spiral Staircase\u2019 shows their raw, lo-fi alternative sound.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And last but certainly not least, you can catch <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>THE CHASE<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The St Ann\u2019s lads have been together for 10 years this year, with a perfected on stage chemistry making for some beaut Indie Rock.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also performing are <\/span><b>REQS<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from Derby.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Spanky Van Dyke\u2019s<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wednesday 21st June<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 6pm<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Entry: \u00a35 adv, \u00a36 otd<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>FRIDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>JIMI MACK<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is launching his debut solo EP \u2018Familiar Horizons\u2019 at Rough Trade on Friday night. Jimi is originally from Belfast but has moved to Notts cause, well Notts is great? He has just released a video for the lead track of the new EP, \u2018Salao\u2019. It\u2019s a bit odd. It features lots of very well dressed men at a tea party with Jimi\u2019s own brand rum (I think). And the song is super nice too.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>BURNT PAW<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> calls his music style \u2018Oral History et Fingerstyle Guitar\u2019 and it\u2019s bloody beautiful. He\u2019s apparently originally from Birmingham, but I can\u2019t quite tell if that\u2019s UK or US, and now lives in Notts. But regardless, his guitar playing will leave you in awe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also supporting are <\/span><b>Felix M-B<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from Derby and <\/span><b>Arthur Cunnington<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from Melton Mowbray.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Rough Trade<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Friday 23rd June<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 7pm<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Entry: Free<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SATURDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>TACO HELL<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are headlining The Bodega on Saturday. No Biggie. Also no biggie, they got two plays on a lil station called Radio 1 within 10 days last week. As well as having a great name, they have some beaut \u2018Dreamo Punx\u2019 tracks. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Support comes from, <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>CHERRY HEX AND THE DREAM CHURCH<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> who release their new single Toska tomorrow (Monday 19th). I\u2019ve had a sneak peek and it sounds incredible. Toska translates to \u2018sadness\u2019 in Russian and in typical Cherry Hex style, they\u2019ve made the melancholic sound utterly beautiful. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can see, <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>MOUNTAIN SCHMOUNTAIN<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, an Alt Rock four piece, originally from Cannock but have moved up to Notts.
