I know everyone would much rather be somewhere hot with a lovely pool and a cocktail in hand. But at least there are three really freaking good gigs to take your mind off not being on your hols. There\u2019s a headline show at <strong>The Bodega<\/strong>, a single launch at <strong>JT Soar<\/strong> and a festival at the <strong>Canalhouse<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>FRIDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>MOWBECK<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have had a huge couple of weeks and their Grit Pop has got a whole lot grittier. They released their huge new track \u2018<i>The Basement<\/i>\u2019 which got\u00a0on the <\/span><b>Radio 1 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">playlist as <\/span><b>BBC Introducing Track of the Week<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. This week they\u2019re going on tour and bringing it home to Notts with a headline show at <\/span><b>The Bodega<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Support comes from the dreamy <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>CHERRY HEX AND THE DREAM CHURCH<\/b><\/a><b>.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> If you haven\u2019t heard them before (you don\u2019t read the top 3 very often) it says it all in the name. It\u2019s like a semantic field of words to describe their music.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>The Bodega<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Friday 7th July<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 7pm<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Entry: \u00a35.50<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>FRIDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>BABE PUNCH<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are having a party for their HUGE new single \u2018Control\u2019 at their spiritual home, <\/span><b>JT Soar<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The single has all of <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>BABE PUNCH<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019s classic elements thrown into one epic song with more energy than Yellowstone supervolcano (you know &#8211; that err, super powerful volcano in\u00a0America) and it\u2019s just as likely to blow up.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Support comes from their equally as talented pals <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>THE SHRIVES<\/b><\/a><b>.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> They\u2019ve had love from Rock Sound, NME and Kerrang! Who compared them to somewhere between <\/span><b>Johnny Cash<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>Violent Femmes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>THE VARLETTS<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are also supporting. They\u2019re in this there top 3 every other week at the minute, consistently playing high quality gigs with their awesome alternative sound. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>CAMERON SINCLAIR HARRIS<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will also be bringing his beaut sounds to the old fruit and veg warehouse. The Beeston boy\u2019s Indie Folk is filled with an upbeat sound and rather juxtaposing lyrics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>JT Soar<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Friday 7th July<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 7pm<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Entry: \u00a34 otd<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SATURDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Waterfront Festival is back for another year thanks to <\/span><b>I\u2019m Not From London<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>Audacious Face Music<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. This year, the chosen charities <\/span><b>The Roy Stone Foundation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>NUH Cystic Fibrosis Centre<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will get all the profits. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are three stages &#8211; The Leftlion Stage, The Under The Tree Stage and The Gigantic Stage &#8211; which have bloody loads of Notts musicians. So I\u2019m gonna tell you about the headliner for each stage, but there\u2019s every genre imaginable playing so get ur butts there.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Headlining the Leftlion stage are <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>HALLOUMINATI<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. They\u2019ve not played a gig in Notts for a while but they\u2019re back from the land of greek cheesy heaven with their \u2018GypsyElectroSkaBalkanGreekPunk Mashup.\u2019 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>UNKNOWN ERA<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be shouting \u2018FUCK THE TORIES\u2019 as loud as their lungs will allow, which is pretty fucking loud. Their live performances might leave you feeling knackered but you\u2019re not gonna forget it. Catch them headlining the Gigantic stage and get all that angst out your system.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re fond of some good ol\u2019 Country, <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>THE MOST UGLY CHILD<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are headlining the Under The Tree stage.
