So we\u2019ve picked three free gigs for you lucky things to enjoy. There\u2019s an \u2018artistic jamboree\u2019 at <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>Sobar<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on Friday, the first of a new regular <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>Acoustickle<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> night at <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>Saltbox<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and an EP launch at <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>Tap \u2018N\u2019 Tumbler<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>FRIDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wire &amp; Wool are bringing together a load of musicians, comedians, poets and artists for an \u2018Artistic Jamboree\u2019 at <a href=\"\"><strong>Sobar<\/strong><\/a> this Friday, and it\u2019s all for free.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Headlining the night are \u2018Indietronica\u2019 three-piece <\/span><a href=\";lst=100000304706396%3A100003403668780%3A1503235981\"><b>THESE SKIES<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The band have been around for four over years, making harrowing, celestial sounds with a punchy, explosive rhythm.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>JAMES GORDON<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> also known as <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>JAMES WASHINGTON<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, is a spoken word artist and activist who talks through issues ranging from those in society and more personal matters, in his blissful, calming spoken word.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Opening the evening are <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>THE SEVEN O CLOCK GUN<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> who are actually playing at 6 o clock (#confusing). The two piece make fierce Grungey, Bluesy Folk music with a really sincere and full sound.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Sobar<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Friday 25th August<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 6pm<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Entry: Free<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>FRIDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>Acoustickle<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are at the <a href=\"\"><strong>Saltbox<\/strong><\/a> this Friday night and bringing a load of their fave musical talent with them. <a href=\"\"><strong>Can\u2019t Stop Won\u2019t Stop<\/strong> <\/a>will be DJing and it\u2019s a Gods and Goddesses theme with a prize for best dressed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>MARITA METELIA<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be performing her beautiful love songs that can make a room turn and stare. Her album \u2018These Hurt Pieces\u2019 display her awe inspiring voice and guitar playing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>CHAI LARDEN<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be performing alongside guitarist <\/span><b>BEN HIBBERT<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Chai\u2019s powerful and distinctive vocal and enheartening songwriting, combined with Ben\u2019s impressive guitar playing make for a match made in heaven.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>JOURDAN PIERRE BLAIR<\/b><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will be playing, who you might recognise as <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>JAH DIGGA<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. A proper veteran in Notts music, he\u2019s been making music all things Notts for well over a decade.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can catch fellow veteran <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>J LITTLES<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, who has accumulated thousands of views on YouTube. His latest release \u2018The Rushton Gardens Project\u2019 is a proper homage to Notts, name-checking the area in St. Anns.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can also catch <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>Acoustickle<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> founder <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>PARISA EAST<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Her song \u2018<em>Happiness<\/em>\u2019 was recorded at the Acoustic Roots studio with <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>LOWRIE<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and it\u2019s a real beaut, showcasing Parisa\u2019s incredible voice with her distinctive husky tone over some masterfully made beats.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can also catch <\/span><b>MAMA SOULCHILD<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Saltbox<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Friday 25th August<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 5pm<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Entry: Free<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SATURDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hard Rock four piece <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>TOWERS<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are launching their EP \u2018<em>Promised You Nothing<\/em>\u2019 at <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>Tap \u2018N\u2019 Tumbler<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> this Saturday. The band formed late last year, and are named after front woman Holly, whose last name is Towers. Clever that. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They\u2019ll be supported by\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"\"><b>BRIANBLESSED<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, yep, they like Brian Blessed so much they named their band after him.
