It seems like yesterday we were all soaking up some summer rays with a few (too many) beers. Now, as October approaches with the start of uni and the treacherous weather we\u2019ve had this week, one thing is sure &#8211; WINTER IS COMING!!! Luckily for us, there\u2019s an awesome selection of gigs this week to ease the transition. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>FRIDAY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>THE IDOLINS <\/strong><\/a>were born after members Karen Smalley and Claudine West met at an acoustic night in Notts. 15 years later, the band are performing at <a href=\"\"><strong>Nottingham Contemporary<\/strong><\/a> to mark the occasion as well as the launch of their latest EP \u2018Hunting for the Fifth\u2019. Expect everything from melodic guitars and strings to hypnotic stories that usher in the autumn. Speaking of seasons, their latest single, titled \u2018Seasons\u2019 (funnily enough), has an awesome music video available <a href=\"\">here<\/a> for your viewing pleasure.<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also joining\u00a0<a href=\"\"><strong>THE IDOLINS<\/strong><\/a> is <a href=\"\"><strong>ADAM PETER SMITH<\/strong><\/a>. Adam\u2019s folksy acoustic guitar tunes are filled with interesting textures that give a little more with each listen. He&#8217;ll also be launching his own EP \u2018Songs for Dreamers\u2019 at Nottingham Contemporary on September 30th. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>You can also catch <strong>Isembard\u2019s Wheel<\/strong>\u00a0from Sheffield.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"\">Nottingham Contemporary<\/a><br \/>\n<\/strong>Friday 22nd September<br \/>\nDoors: 8pm<br \/>\nEntry: Free<\/p>\n<p><strong>FRIDAY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>Acoustickle<\/strong><\/a> are back this week for the last of September\u2019s sessions at <a href=\"\"><strong>Saltbox<\/strong><\/a>, with a selection of exceptionally talented artists. <a href=\"\"><strong>RED SEA<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0will be making their <a href=\"\"><strong>Acoustickle<\/strong><\/a> debut, with what I\u2019m coining \u2018Millennial Jazz\u2019- a unique blend of chilled electric guitars, female vocals and jazz of past, present and future- you heard it here first, folks! #trademarked. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Winners of Nottingham\u2019s Top Talent 2017 competition, <a href=\"\"><strong>LADY ROSE<\/strong><\/a> are also making an appearance. The gig offers the opportunity to enjoy great music whilst raising money for a very worthy cause. All money raised will be used to buy thick socks, gloves and hats for the homeless around Nottingham this winter. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>BABE PUNCH<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be bringing in the crowds with energetic punk rock that brings out the inner mosher from even the most mild-mannered of rock enthusiasts. They\u2019ll be playing tunes from their recent release, \u2018Stanford\u2019, which is out now. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>FOULE<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are also making an appearance to soothe your soul with psychedelic guitars and harmonies that are reminiscent of Mac DeMarco. We\u2019ll be seeing much more of these guys on the Notts music scene I\u2019m sure &lt;3.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Baby Names<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from Leeds and <strong>Arches<\/strong> from Chesterfield will also be performing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">P.S.
