Ok, soz guys, that was awful. We take it back. Anyway, between all the face paint, fake blood and trick or treating (we know we\u2019re too old now, but FREE SWEETS. C\u2019mon), there\u2019s a wicked selection of Notts music this week. Wicked enough to awaken the ears of the living dead. Probably. Expect the musical equivalent of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, music that makes you feel like you\u2019re in a black and white movie and a guest appearance from Michael Cera.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>THURSDAY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As <strong>Black History Month<\/strong> draws to an end, <strong>Cultural Vibrations<\/strong>\u00a0are bringing this music special and celebrating with a wicked selection of MOBO. Talk about going out with a bang(er). See what we did there? Ey? Ey? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Headlining this impressive lineup is <a href=\"\"><strong>RAMONE WILLIAMS<\/strong><\/a>, who makes amazing, acoustic reggae music that makes you stop whatever you\u2019re doing immediately and pay attention to his sweet voice and thoughtful lyrics. Check out his amazing performance of \u2018Rebel Music\u2019 <a href=\";feature=youtu.be\">here.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>NARTZ<\/strong> <\/a>will being there playing his blend of Hip Hop, Grime and Trap.\u00a0<a href=\"\"><strong>NARTZ<\/strong><\/a> has got a flow that sits somewhere in between party-hype and serious-hype. So, either way, it\u2019ll get you hyped and ready for a night of skankin\u2019. Hennessy not mandatory but recommended.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>CHAI LARDEN<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"\"><strong>BEN HIBBERT<\/strong><\/a> are adding a soulful, bluesy edge to the lineup. Chai\u2019s voice is like something from another era and mixed with Ben\u2019s catchy, on-point acoustic guitar strumming this duo have got us feeling all the feels and then some. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>I AM STARZ<\/strong><\/a> describes her music as being \u2018Atmospheric\u2019. It\u2019s easy to see why. Her music sounds to us a bit like <strong>Sampha<\/strong> meets <strong>Jorja Smith<\/strong> in space after the sesh. Strap in for a cosmic music experience.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Taking us on a journey through musical past is <a href=\"\"><strong>HANNAH HEARTSHAPE<\/strong><\/a>. There\u2019s a certain richness to the tone of Hannah\u2019s voice that makes listening a luxury experience. When I listen and close my eyes, it makes me feel as though I were in a black and white film, listening to <strong>Etta James<\/strong> whilst dressed in diamonds and a fur coat. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Switching it up is <a href=\"\"><strong>GARTON<\/strong><\/a>, who\u2019ll be bringing us all back from our music-induced, trance-like states with some Hip Hop bangers that will get all our heads bopping like a musical can of Red Bull and remind us we\u2019re here for a celebration! <\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Maze<br \/>\n<\/strong>Thursday 26th October<br \/>\nDoors: 8pm<br \/>\nEntry: \u00a35<\/p>\n<p><strong>THURSDAY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The second edition of <strong>Hellcats<\/strong> is here, this time with a Punk-themed, Halloween special. Obviously, then, <a href=\"\"><strong>BABE PUNCH<\/strong><\/a> will be making an appearance (can\u2019t have a punk night in Notts without \u2018em, amirite?), and will be singing songs that send a strong political message whilst making us jump around like a bunch of costumed-mentalists.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>THE SHRIVES<\/strong> <\/a>make the kind of British Indie-Rock music that make us feel like we\u2019re in our local having a dance and a chat about life over fags and ales.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><strong>THE VARLETTS<\/strong><\/a> may have moved up to Leeds but they couldn&#8217;t stay away from Notts for long, blessing us with their raucous rock anthems.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fox Talbots<br \/>\n<\/strong>Thursday 26th October<br \/>\nDoors: 8pm<br \/>\nEntry: \u00a34 adv, \u00a35 otd<\/p>\n<p><strong>SATURDAY<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>The Malt Cross<\/strong> is turning 140 years old this October (say what?!). To celebrate the big 1-4-0, they\u2019re throwing a massive weekend festival (with the live music on the Saturday) and we\u2019re all invited. Cheers guys. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>SAWYER<\/strong><\/a> will be playing and bringing his dreamy, serene sound.
