Photo Credit:\u00a0<\/strong>Unknown.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Omg, it\u2019s already (practically) November. Is it just me or is this year bolting past at lightning speed? Well, y\u2019know what they say? Time flies when you\u2019re having musical fun. Ok, they don\u2019t say that, but they should. Another week in Notts = another banging week for music and this is no exception. We\u2019re taking a musical berocca, going on a journey to the American South and I\u2019m up-ing the terrible joke factor to about 95%. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>THURSDAY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Notts Factor 2017 is here! The selection of artists this year is wicked &#8211; a real showcase of the diverse talent this city has to offer. And it\u2019s free! What more could we ask for? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>VEGA BAY<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0are making an appearance and bringing the musical feel-good factor with them. If\u00a0<a href=\"\"><strong>VEGA BAY<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s music were a scene in a film it\u2019d be you driving in the countryside with the roof down, the wind blowing in your hair, feeling great about life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>WHISKY STAIN<\/strong><\/a> are also playing. I know, right- coolest band name ever?! The band make guitar driven, <strong>Queen of the Stone Age<\/strong>-esque tunes that make us both wanna start a mosh pit and kick back with a whiskey.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You might remember <a href=\"\"><strong>KELSEY SHAW<\/strong><\/a> from the Future Session we did with her a while back (which you can see <a href=\"\">here<\/a>).<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0She\u2019s back with those hauntingly beautiful vocals and thoughtful lyrics, making us feel all the feels. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>THE DANDYLIONS<\/strong><\/a> will be playing their light-hearted, fun Glam Rock tunes such as \u2018Pick &amp; Mix\u2019, that makes us wanna have a dance and a snack at the same time. Thankfully, they provide the snacks too.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Music is a cathartic experience for a lot of us. So, if you\u2019re ever having a bad day, I recommend giving <a href=\"\"><strong>PHIDIZZ<\/strong><\/a> a listen and letting out all of your rage through his tense, bouncy bars and hilariously named tunes such as \u2018Crudclart\u2019. We\u2019re pheeling dizz. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>CHAI LARDEN<\/strong><\/a> will be performing with the talented guitarist and singer-songwriter <a href=\"\"><strong>BEN HIBBERT<\/strong><\/a>. Chai\u2019s voice has a distinct jazzy tone that reminds me a bit of <strong>Amy Winehouse<\/strong> and teamed with Ben\u2019s catchy riffs this duo have got our heads bopping.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>THE SEVEN O&#8217;CLOCK GUN<\/strong><\/a> make Country-inspired, Bluesy, Folksy guitar music that makes me feel like I should be listening in Southern America on a road trip with a stack of hay in my truck. So maybe\u00a0<a href=\"\"><strong>THE SEVEN O&#8217;CLOCK GUN<\/strong><\/a> is like the musical American South of Nottingham?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wow. The vocal chords of <a href=\"\"><strong>NADIA RAE<\/strong><\/a> have got some serious \u2018sit up and pay attention\u2019 factor to them. She makes R&amp;B and electronic crossover tracks and is the kind of singer who sounds even better live than on the studio versions of her songs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Indie Rock n Rollers <a href=\"\"><strong>THE FLAVELLS<\/strong> <\/a>will also be there playing their unique music that sounds like it comes from a bunch of rock stars with decades of TV smashing under the belts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rescue Rooms<br \/>\n<\/strong>Thursday 2nd November<br \/>\nDoors: 7pm<br \/>\nEntry: Free<\/p>\n<p><strong>FRIDAY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There\u2019s a Hip Hop and Grime special this Thursday so get your magnums, your 16 bars and your skank face ready \u2018cos <strong>Wheels<\/strong> is gonna be live-o. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>ZED BOYS<\/strong><\/a> make the kind of Grime music that has got a, well, grimey edge to it. Funny that. Expect music that make you flex your bass face muscles and get you drawing for the gun fingers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>0115 MOB<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are playing (awesome name btw, #nottsrepresent), and will be delivering dark Hip Hop, Trap-esque beats with banging lyrical delivery. Think <strong>Stooki Sound<\/strong> goes grime on your local estate. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>VANDULL<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be playing and bringing the kind of bouncy grime that takes us back to the old skool grime days with fast paced, adrenaline-infused beats. Check out the politely named \u2018Fuck Off\u2019, <\/span><a href=\"\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (sorry mum).<br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Did you know that <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>JAH DIGGA<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> means \u2018yes mate\u2019 in German? #factoftheday. Jah\u2019s got some really tight, reflective bars and effortless flow. He also shouts out Nottingham a lot in his bars so, y\u2019know, double big ups from us.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>AYE NIZZY<\/strong><\/a> makes broody HIp Hop that suits moments when you wanna sit back and contemplate life. Teamed with his impeccable delivery, it\u2019s no wonder he\u2019s caught the attention of <strong>SBTV<\/strong> and <strong>Lord of the Mics<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Turning the bass levels up to about 1000 will be <a href=\"\"><strong>NARTZ<\/strong><\/a>, whose music is so off the Richter scale it might spark the world\u2019s first ever bass-induced earthquake.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>PHIDIZZ\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>is having a busy weekend this week, as he\u2019s back after Notts Factor to play here too. Double\u00a0<a href=\"\"><strong>PHIDIZZ<\/strong><\/a>? We\u2019re pheeling dizz (yes, that is the same joke, but, y\u2019know, who doesn\u2019t enjoy a good pun amirite?).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>FRENZY<\/strong>, <strong>QUAID<\/strong>, <strong>GB<\/strong> &amp; <strong>VENDZ<\/strong>, collectively known as <a href=\"\"><strong>SET115<\/strong><\/a>, will also be playing what I\u2019m gonna go ahead and coin the classic \u2018Grime starter pack\u2019 combination- heavy bass, home-y style beats, tunes about money, making movements and the ends.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>Z\u00a3D<\/strong><\/a> is definitely one to watch on the Notts music scene. As well as being a seriously talented producer, he\u2019s got smooth bars and a sick voice to match. His Soundcloud is a real showcase of his talent- it\u2019s Hop Hop meets R&amp;B meets Soul and has had me vibesing at my desk all day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Market Bar<\/strong><br \/>\nFriday 3rd November<br \/>\nDoors: 10pm<br \/>\nEntry: Starts from \u00a34<\/p>\n<p><strong>FRIDAY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>TUSK<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0are launching their new single at <strong>Rough Trade<\/strong> this Friday with an awesome set of support acts too.\u00a0<a href=\"\"><strong>TUSK<\/strong><\/a> vocalist Ned\u2019s<\/span><b>\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">tone has a really deep and mellow edge to it and the band\u2019s new song \u2018<em>Matter of Time\u2019<\/em> has got \u2018future number 1\u2019 written all over it.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The\u00a0<a href=\"\"><strong>VEGA BAY<\/strong><\/a> boys are also busy bees this weekend, playing here after their appearance at Notts Fest the day before. Their music is a bit like a musical berocca: you, but on a really good day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>CHERRY HEX AND THE DREAM CHURCH<\/strong><\/a> will be performing.
