After you\u2019ve been to our workshop with Spotify on Tuesday (2 more sleeps!), I\u2019m sure you\u2019ll be feeling inspired and ready to hear some new tunes. Well, we got you. There\u2019s something for everyone this week, as we finally solve the age-old mystery of what <strong>Liam Gallagher<\/strong> and Hollyoaks have in common, provide the soundtrack for the next Mortal Kombat release and get our tissues ready for a good ol\u2019 cry. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>WEDNESDAY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wednesday sees <strong>Confetti<\/strong> take over\u00a0<strong>Rough Trade<\/strong>, showcasing some of the best of <strong>Confetti<\/strong>&#8216;s degree students. They&#8217;re a bloody talented bunch.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>BLACK CATS AND MAGPIES<\/strong><\/a> make distinct, alternative rock that combines driving rhythms and ambient harmonies. The result is tunes that will both get you reminiscing with your mates about old times and jumping headfirst into the moshpit. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What do Hollyoaks and <strong>Liam Gallagher<\/strong> have in common? A love of <a href=\"\"><strong>THE CHASE<\/strong><\/a>, apparently. Their latest tune \u2018As You Were\u2019 has been grabbing attention nationwide, #squadgoals. It\u2019s no surprise really. <a href=\"\"><strong>THE CHASE<\/strong><\/a> have been making music for absolutely ages and, quite frankly, it shows. They have a sound well beyond their years. It\u2019s polished, it\u2019s tight, it\u2019s catchy af.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>BRIA<\/strong><\/a> is bringing Country music into the 21st century. The 18 year old\u2019s sound has got a catchy Pop edge and the stylish, slurry guitar melodies on songs such as \u2018Lay Down\u2019 feel like they should be featured on some emotional, season finale moment of The OC.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re looking for some feel good, acoustic vibes then look no further! <a href=\"\"><strong>GUY ELLERTON<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s got your back. Think accomplished vocal melodies with classic guitar strumming. The kind of music you put on when you\u2019re walking home after a great day, soaking up all the positivity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There\u2019s something <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ethereal about <a href=\"\"><strong>HOLLY TAYLOR-GAMBLE<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s unique vocals that will\u00a0send a shiver down your spine and make your hair stand on end. Teamed with her poignant lyrics, her sound is a bit <strong>Florence and the Machine<\/strong> with a darker, punkier edge.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>AYE NIZZY<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s contemplative lyrics and brooding chord sequences have caught the attention of big Grime outlets like SBTV and Lord of the Mics. It\u2019s no wonder. If Nizzy\u2019s music was a recipe it would be a dollop of big bass, a dash of smooth vocals, and the perfect dose of hype to get you skankin\u2019. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><strong>AIM\u00c9<\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>E STONES<\/strong><\/a> will be playing with <a href=\"\"><strong>RIHANNE MEE<\/strong><\/a> and making us all cry a bit with their sad (but incredibly beautiful) songs. Sometimes sad songs are the best right? The combination of this duo\u2019s impeccable piano playing, guitar riffs and harmonies are bound to put you on an emotional journey. Tissues at the ready guys. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rough Trade<\/strong><br \/>\nWednesday 29th November<br \/>\nDoors: 7pm<br \/>\nEntry: Free<\/p>\n<p><strong>THURSDAY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thursday sees the official launch of <strong>Hazed.<\/strong> at <strong>Saltbox<\/strong>, with the first 50 people through the door getting an exclusive, mystery gift (let us know what it is!). Knucks from North West London is headlining, with loads of Nottingham artists on the lineup.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>NARTZ<\/strong><\/a> makes some seriously bassy Hip Hop that\u2019ll most likely make ya face sink and then spark the world\u2019s first ever bass-induced earthquake. You have been warned. He\u2019s got a new video coming your way too that has some pretty trippy visuals and a bit of a West Coast vibe.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>J GOLD<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s \u2018Thoughts of a Soldier\u2019 has been my week-long soundtrack. The slick production, J\u2019s impeccable flow and witticisms will keep you coming back for more. His live set will no doubt get your head bopping and maybe even inspire you to write your own 16.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re after bouncy, hyped-up grime tunes that you back to the old school days when we used to spit bars to the ringtones on our phones, let me introduce you to <a href=\"\"><strong>ZED BOYS<\/strong><\/a>. This lot have got a modern grime sound but they\u2019ve retained all the fun of the old school days that takes us back and makes us feel all nostalgic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There\u2019s something a little bit <strong>A$AP Mob<\/strong> meets <strong>Odd Future<\/strong> about the production behind <a href=\"\"><strong>HARRY DIRT<\/strong><\/a> and then his lyrics take us straight to Atlanta and give us just about all the trippy vibes we can take.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>KONTRAST<\/strong><\/a> brings a bit of a rock edge to Hip Hop with his sound that mixes sharp delivery with electric guitar riffs and makes me feel like his songs should be featured in the final round of a Mortal Kombat marathon. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can also expect some surprises on the night and potential freestyles from the likes of <\/span><strong><a href=\"\">GARTON<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>JAH DIGGA<\/strong><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <a href=\"\"><strong>J<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/span><a href=\"\"><strong>LITTLES<\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>KAMAR<\/strong><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <a href=\"\"><strong>STAN CROOK<\/strong><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>FRIDAY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>CHERRY HEX AND THE DREAM CHURCH<\/strong><\/a> are headlining <strong>The Bodega<\/strong> this Friday. The band are basically the modern definition of the word \u2018feels\u2019. Expect their unique blend of moody, relaxed vocals, minimalist, dreamy beats and an all round musical hug that takes us for a spin around the galaxy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Continuing the psychedelic journey are <a href=\"\"><strong>SOFT GIRLS AND BOYS CLUB<\/strong><\/a>. They mix grungy guitar sounds with synths and falsetto vocals and their music should have featured in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas or some kind of art house flick.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>ELANA<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s ethereal, soft, sweet tone is so enchanting it\u2019s no wonder she caught the attention of <strong>Nina Nesbitt<\/strong> this year!
