We\u2019re ramping up the Rock factor this week, with tunes that will have you taking on the patriarchy and plotting world domination through a Pop Punk movement and sticking up two fingers to your ex whilst you sail off into the sunset.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>WEDNESDAY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Following the release of their \u2018Think About It\u2019 EP, <a href=\"\"><strong>FAST CAR TO FLORENCE<\/strong><\/a> are headlining <strong>Rough Trade<\/strong> to bring us all the best in Pop-inspired Rock. Their music is ridiculously catchy. Catchy x1000 with sprinkles on top. Songs like \u2018English Skin\u2019 will have you singing <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018did I sing too much, did I sing too much, did I sing too much again?\u2019 <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">all week long.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>De\u2019Nova<\/strong> from Manchester will also be playing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rough Trade<\/strong><br \/>\nWednesday 6th December<br \/>\nDoors: 7:30<br \/>\nEntry: \u00a35:50<\/p>\n<p><strong>THURSDAY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>RedFaces<\/strong> from Sheffield are heading down to <strong>Rock City Basement<\/strong> this Thursday, with some top quality support from Notts artists. Representing all day erry day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>AMULET<\/strong><\/a> make the kind of Indie Rock music that has lots of those \u2018wom wom\u2019 sounding guitars (yes, that is the technical term) and is a bit like <strong>Franz Ferdinand<\/strong> but with a more Rock n\u2019 Roll edge. Their music could be played in some sort of Bluesy, Rock n\u2019 Roll bar where everyone ends up standing on the bar dancing and drinking whiskey until the early hours.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>SOFT GIRLS AND BOYS CLUB<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s music sounds like Pop dipped in Psychedelia. The falsetto vocals are really fun, and the synths mixed with grungy guitars make a modern sound. \u201822:22\u2019 makes us feel like we\u2019re in summer on a hazy day blowing bubbles with someone we fancy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rock City Basement<\/strong><br \/>\nThursday 7th December<br \/>\nDoors: 7:30<br \/>\nEntry: \u00a36<\/p>\n<p><strong>FRIDAY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There\u2019s a punk show at <strong>Rough Trade<\/strong> this Friday, all <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in aid of <\/span><strong><a href=\"\">Equation<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a wicked Nottingham based charity fighting domestic abuse.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\"><strong>YOU WANT FOX<\/strong><\/a> are headlining this female-led evening. The band\u2019s punchy, Pop Punk riffs, are fun, lighthearted and empowering all at the same time.
