As part of Confetti\u2019s Industry Week, and supported by PRS Foundation&#8217;s &#8216;Talent Development Partner Network&#8217; we\u2019ve gone and got some HUGE media names down to share their wisdom with you beautiful people, all for free<\/p>\n<p><strong>WORKSHOP<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 You know what these are: several music industry experts share their advice and wisdom, you take a seat and soak it all up. Mostly led by your questions, the Workshop sees industry professionals share all their wisdom, and you get the chance to speak to \u2019em afterwards. The speakers for this Workshop are\u2026<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; DANIEL P CARTER &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>BBC Radio 1&#8217;s Rock Show DJ, Dan has toured the world in multiple\u00a0hardcore \/ rock\u00a0bands, curates The Pit stage at Reading and Leeds, and has given many musicians their first National radio play on his show.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; SIAN ANDERSON<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a01Xtra DJ,\u00a0freelance\u00a0journalist for i-D Magazine \/ The Fader + loads more, and\u00a0all-round\u00a0&#8216;Grime ambassador&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; KATE HOLDER<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; BBC Radio 1 and 1 Xtra producer for almost 10 years. Kate has a passion for supporting new\u00a0artists,\u00a0and\u00a0spent the last 3 years producing Huw Stephens&#8217; show on Radio 1.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; MIKE WALSH<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; Head of Music at Radio X \/ XFM since 2005. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, Mike has worked with artists as huge as Coldplay and Blur.<\/p>\n<p>Come the end of the Workshop, there will be one of our famous Spread The Love sessions. Which is basically like speed-dating for musicians. You put your hand up and say you need something (new band member, producer, manager, video director etc etc) and then, the peeps that do what you need raise their hands. Then you make beautiful (metaphorical) musical babies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MUSICIANS ADVICE FAIR<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Like a Freshers Fair, there\u2019ll be loads of musician helping entities setting up stall before and after the workshop.\u00a0This time, it&#8217;s our biggest EVER. From HUGE names like Arts Council England and Musicians Union, through to killer local peeps like BBC Introducing and Leftlion.<\/p>\n<p>All <strong>confirmed<\/strong> so far: Arts Council England, BBC Introducing, Confetti, County Youth Arts, Creative Quarter, DHP Local Team, Forever Records, I\u2019m Not From London, Leftlion, Musicians Union, Nottingham Music Hub, Nusic (we\u2019ll represent Notts TV too), PRS for Music, The Maze and Young Creative Awards.<\/p>\n<p>The event is part of Confetti\u2019s Industry Week. BUT, as with all Nusic Academy events, it is entirely open to the public! Yup, you, your brother, your bandmate, your pet frog (okay, maybe not your frog), you get the picture. Loads of free music advice, for free. Did we mention it\u2019s free?<\/p>\n<p>Make sure you hop on the Eventbrite ASAP to get your tickets. This is all part of the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"\">Academy<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0part of Nusic, which aims to give musicians advice at the start of their career.
