Apparently, we\u2019re basically all gonna die from a mega blizzard this week, so it\u2019s a good job we have some sick gigs to get us through init? Quite a mix this week &#8211; so grab a cuppa, and get stuck in&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>MONDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You\u2019d have thought after their mental 15th birthday at the weekend, that team Rescue would be hungover for a good few weeks &#8211; but they\u2019re keeping the celebration vibes going on Monday &#8211; as it\u2019s the legendary <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>Acoustic Rooms\u2019<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> eighth birthday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And, they have a KILLER lineup to celebrate. Starting at 5:30pm w\/ current host <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>JOEY COSTELLO\u2019s<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> soulful Folk, the evening goes from the hilarious comedy-ukulele pop of <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>THE EDI JOHNSTON BIT<\/b><\/a><b>,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> through to the grungey awesomeness that is <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>SCOTT BUGG AND THE VITAL FEW.<\/b><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And, it\u2019s meant to go on till three in the bloody morning. Ending with a mega open mic \/ jam session. Playing the Royal Concert Hall. Probably not your usual go-to venue for our fine readers (your eyes look great today btw), but still, we\u2019re sure Jake\u2019s beaut voice and stunning songwriting will feel right at home here.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AND &#8211; he\u2019s bringing fellow Notts lass <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>GEORGIE<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> along for the ride too. Who has got some banging new songs reader, let me tell ya. I use that word consciously too &#8211; her new songs &#8211; especially \u2018Too Much TV\u2019 is MASSIVE? An anthemic Stevie-Nicks-esque piece of pop bliss. Again &#8211; we\u2019re sure it\u2019ll sound awesome.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Royal Concert Hall<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Friday 2nd March<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 7pm<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Price: \u00a322, but to get the last few tickets ya need to ring up the box office &#8211; 0115 989 5555<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SUNDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Local providers of fresh garms <\/span><a href=\"\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018<\/span><b>Alibi Clothing<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> turn five this week, and to celebrate they\u2019re throwing a lil shindig down at The Maze w\/ a bunch of Notts\u2019 finest. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Three stages. An upstairs acoustic stage headlined by Alt-Rockers <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>SAY THE WORD<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, funnily enough, playing an acoustic set. Beaut melodies, and songs inspired by beer, pizza and Rock City &#8211; can only be a goodun. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Then there\u2019s an acoustic downstairs stage which is headlined by the super slick popness of <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>KATIE COOPER<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Again &#8211; doing an acoustic thang, but we\u2019re sure those super catchy choruses will be just as\u2026 erm, catchy. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And then there\u2019s the main stage &#8211; headlined by <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>BLACK INK<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. A fairly new band, but jeeez these guys sound like they\u2019ve been doing it for ages. Headbang-inducing Metalcore, with an awesome clean vocal on the hooks.
