Just another normal week in Notts. x<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>THURSDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nottingham\u2019s premier time-tellers, <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>THE HALF EIGHT <\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are back for their first headline gig in quite some time &#8211; and they\u2019re bringing all the guitar-pop bangers with \u2018em. If you\u2019re unfamiliar, the 08:30\u2019s have a lil bit of everything you love (and pretend to hate, but secretly love) about bands like Busted \/ McFly \/ Scouting for Girls. Proper catchy tunes. Amazing hair. And all round good vibes. Hopefully, they\u2019ll start their set at half eight too and we can all be v satisfied that happened.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Supporting are <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>THE MOCKING JAYS<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, another group of humans that write a damn catchy chorus. Sometimes an artists own description does the best job, so I\u2019ll leave you with theirs &#8211; \u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a unique sound that combines the joys and heartaches of life into a magical carpet ride of Sexy, Funky, Dirty, Pop.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thursday 17th May <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rough Trade<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Price: free, but ya need to reserve tickets.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 7pm.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>FRIDAY <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>Damn You!<\/b><\/a>\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"\"><b>Gringo Records<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are teaming up to bring ya a beast of a lineup at <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>The Maze <\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">this Friday.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">First up are <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>SLUMB PARTY<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; riotous Post-Punk born from several fine Notts bands (White Finger \/ Punish the Atom). They\u2019re an incredibly engaging live band, whether it\u2019s frontman Joey\u2019s stunning on-stage persona, or the way the whole band come together to make music that is somehow equally chaotic and dance-able at the same time. Plus there\u2019s sax, and who doesn\u2019t love a good bit of sax? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And headlining we have the magnificent musicians that are <\/span><b><a href=\"\">GREY HAIRS<\/a>.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Powerful. Intense. Mystical. It\u2019s always an incredible experience seeing them live. Whether it\u2019s the wall of sound, the dual vocals, or just their stage presence. In that vibey main room, it\u2019s gonna be tense. The best kind of tense. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Friday 18th May<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Maze<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Price: \u00a36 adv<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doors: 8pm<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SATURDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So, err, ya know how those famous royal types are getting married this week? Yeah, well, more importantly &#8211; it\u2019s a Notts musicians birthday. Mr <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>GEORGE GADD\u2019s.<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> And to celebrate the joyous occasion of his birthday twinning with a slightly famous wedding, he\u2019s throwing a massive charity bash at <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>Rough Trade<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, all raising money for <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>Framework<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>The Friary<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kicking things off is <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>BILL KERRY III<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> whose one-liner is \u2018The King of Kimberley\u2019. Strong one-liner Bill, strong one-liner. He makes traditional Folk songs with kazoos. What else could ya need for a party? Next up is that <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>GEORGE GADD <\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">fella, with his band. His humble FB event says he might cry, but we\u2019re sure that\u2019ll be cos he\u2019s doing something so AWESOME. Amirite George? Amirite? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\"><b>THE SHRIVES<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> take to the stage next with their anthemic Punk-y Rock and Roll. With catchy hooks for days, some of the coolest outfits your eyeballs have seen, plus an air of rockstarisms, they\u2019re gonna tear that stage up. Well, not literally, but ya know, you\u2019ll love it. And then there are <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>THE DANDYLIONS<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Bright pink and yellow spandex, humongous glam-rock choruses, and probs some free sweeties too. If these guys don\u2019t get you in a good mood, you\u2019re probs a right miserable bastard.
