A celebration of creativity, a way cooler version of Prince, plus Notts music Christmas. It\u2019s another week in ya fav city. x<\/span><\/p>\n

WEDNESDAY<\/b><\/p>\n

This week the <\/span>Young Creative Awards<\/b><\/a> returns to celebrate all the awesome\u2026 well, creative talent of young peeps in Notts. And – as always they\u2019ve gone and got a bunch of live performances from local musicians to make it even more awesome. This year ya can see Soul queen <\/span>NINA SMITH<\/b> <\/a>bossing it, <\/span>LOUIS CROFT<\/b><\/a> sharing his Singer-Songwriter vibes, and that\u2019s just the beginning. Cos – to keep us all on our toes, we\u2019re told there\u2019s some super top secret performances kept in store too. Ooooh, secret. Ooooh. Oooh.<\/span><\/p>\n

And it\u2019s a nice excuse to get out your trackies for a night, init. <\/span><\/p>\n

THURSDAY <\/b><\/p>\n

AVA SAINT<\/b><\/a>,<\/b> kinda the <\/span>Prince<\/b> of Notts in that you\u2019ll probs know her by the name of \u2018The Artist formerly known as <\/span>HOLLY TAYLOR-GAMBLE<\/b><\/a>\u2019, is playing a headliner at<\/span> The Maze<\/b> this week, and it\u2019s shaping up to be a banger. Ava and her band bring the biggest wall of sound that is designed to drown your ear drums in wonderful sensations. And then there\u2019s them high notes. DEM HIGH NOTES MAAAAN. Ava\u2019s drummer Tyler bled for the music during their Future Session<\/a>, so if anyone wants to take plasters, that would be nice. <\/span><\/p>\n

Supporting are <\/span>THOSE HOWLIN\u2019 SOUNDS<\/b><\/a>. Who are one of those bands that have a name, that kinda gives you an idea of the music they make. Big, kinda howling, but mostly just sick Indie with an incredibly unique vocal tone. And then there\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>LNC<\/b><\/a> – I\u2019ll let you google to find out what it stands for. Epic, ballsy Indie-Rock, with some very witty and engaging lyrics. Nice1.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gladis<\/b> from Yorkshire are also supporting. <\/span><\/p>\n

The best game of join the dots you ever did play – Dot to Dot returns this weekend, and brings yet again a humongous collection of local artists to its lineup. Whether you\u2019re seeing <\/span>WHISKY STAIN<\/b><\/a> tear up <\/span>Jam Cafe,<\/b> watching <\/span>JOEL BAKER<\/b><\/a> play the legendary <\/span>Rock City <\/b>main stage, embracing the debut performance of <\/span>JONNY OLLEY<\/b><\/a> w\/ his band at <\/span>Broadway<\/b>, or indulging in the stunning sounds of <\/span>VERA GULL<\/b><\/a> at <\/span>Suede<\/b>. There\u2019s so many combinations and artists to see, we could be here all day (and we\u2019ve got this lil important show dropping tomorrow\u2026) so, <\/span>HERE<\/b><\/a> are the set times. Plan your day, and then completely forget about it, get wavy on Red Stripe, and find your new fav Notts artist. <\/span><\/p>\n
