Legit, when I first got excited about this album the last World Cup were on. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now, hopefully this review won\u2019t date badly, but as I write this, England have got their shit together and the entire country has basically gone mental for them. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nusic &#8211; why are you talking about football?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cos, this is all a genius metaphor to say in that four years, <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>APRIL TOWERS<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have produced something bloody brilliant. And a bunch of peeps may get tattoos that say \u2018<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Certified Freaky<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maybe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The tracklist is almost like a greatest hits. Straight in on track numero uno, you get one of the catchiest guitar riffs your ear bits have ever consumed, and you\u2019re a fucking liar if you say you don\u2019t sing along to it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We\u2019re then hit with two (relatively) new tracks, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018Modern Psyche\u2019<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and \u2018<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One Night<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019. Both full of synthy goodness that would make a New Order fan cream their cargo shorts. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SMASH HIT ALERT: then we\u2019re hit with fan favourite \u2018<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tel Aviv<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019, which still transports me back to sweaty lil <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>Jam Cafe<\/b><\/a>\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in 2014 having a proper good bop. I say that, I can\u2019t remember much of it, but I remember liking it so much I drunkenly tried to download it and accidentally bought some Canadian Rock band called <\/span><b>April Wine<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We get a bit a emosh on \u2018<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Last Light\u2019<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Electro-emosh (should defo be a sub-genre). It\u2019s the kind of song that makes you wanna hug \u2018em, for both the emotional content AND the fact that it\u2019s a bloody beautifully written song. And that\u2019s before you get to \u2018<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Only Way Up is Down<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019, a song that\u2019ll make you weep more than if Kane misses a penalty tomorrow. #hugsforAT<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Overall, it\u2019s a beauty of a project, and yes, as cliche as it is &#8211; it really was worth the wait. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I can certify that.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">#tumbleweed<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yours in Love of New Music,<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sam Nahirny x<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jeeeeeez this album has been a long time coming.
