Another blissful week in Notts. x<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>FRIDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Four bands. Four quid. Four dollops of dopamine for that pretty brain of yours. That\u2019s what ya can expect at <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>The Maze<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> this Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kicking off the night is the jangly happy Indie-Guitar-Pop of <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>YOUTH HOTEL<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Super duper catchy. Like, the, you sing along to the guitar line and then you realise you\u2019re actually singing an instrument sound and you\u2019re like \u2018huh?\u2019 but its so good you don\u2019t care. Yeah, that. THEN &#8211; its <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>UMI<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. A collab between Jay Umpriz, Nik Ivanov, and Mekajinn who blend Punk, Blues and Hip-Hop into a well British concoction. Next up &#8211; <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>BLUE VULTURE<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; a band that\u2019ll have ya feeling anything other than blue (haha *tumbleweed*). Swish melodies, some mad catchy riffs, and a charismatic frontman &#8211; what more can ya ask for? At the top of the bill &#8211; <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>DEF GOLDBLUM<\/b><\/a><b>.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Not a James Bond villain, in fact a sick Notts fusion of ear-thrashing Rock and old school Hip-Hop. Get your mosh on, duck.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Maze<br \/>\nFriday 10th August<br \/>\nDoors: 830pm<br \/>\nPrice: \u00a34 otd<\/p>\n<p><b>SATURDAY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you have a mate called Rupert (doesn\u2019t everybody?), make sure you text him now, cos this Saturday<\/span> <a href=\"\"><b>DON\u2019T FORGET RUPERT<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> take over <\/span><b><a href=\"\">Rescue Rooms<\/a>,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and you know you wanna be that guy \/ gal that said they didn\u2019t forget Rupert. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Shit jokes aside &#8211; DFR are well good. Anthemic Alt-Rock, with a dashing of beaut Pop melodies. Just listen to lead single <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018The Past is a Dangerous Place\u2019<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. It\u2019ll make ya wanna get your shitty guitar out your parents attic, pretend you remember more than three chords, and scream \u2018ONE NIIIIGHT\u2019 at the top of your lungs. Will probs make you get a new haircut too. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Support comes from <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>THE MOCKING JAYS<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"\"><b>FADING BLONDE<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The former, also bring humongous sugary sweet melodies, full of blissful guitars. The latter, are not a bunch of balding blonde dudes, but in fact a brand new band &#8211; four gents making Alt-Pop-Rock glistening with gritty guitars. And, obvs, most importantly &#8211; a bunch of awesome Notts musicians too.<\/p>\n<p>They&#8217;re at <a href=\"\"><strong>Rough Trade<\/strong><\/a> on Saturday, and <a href=\"\"><strong>Jam Cafe<\/strong><\/a> on Sunday. Sat brings you the haunting, majestic sounds of <strong><a href=\"\">KETO\u00a0<\/a><\/strong>and\u00a0the Quirk-Pop of <strong><a href=\"\">EMILY FRANKLIN<\/a>. <\/strong>There&#8217;s also the beautiful sounds of <a href=\"\"><strong>THE<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>GIRL AND THE STONE<\/strong><\/a>, plus the v unique Folk-Rock of <a href=\"\"><strong>ALTA PUEBLO<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Then, on Sunday &#8211; not only do you get to hear them beaut sounds from KETO again, but you also get the foot-stomping Bluesy goodness\u00a0of <a href=\"\"><strong>94 GUNSHIPS<\/strong><\/a>, the sultry sounds of <a href=\"\"><strong>STACEY MCMULLEN&#8217;s<\/strong> <\/a>Folk, plus the pleasant return of <a href=\"\"><strong>WE SHOW UP ON RADAR<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; who Huw Stephens described as &#8216;a thing of beauty&#8217;.
