The studios are used by a lot of young people in St Ann’s (and further afield) which not only helps the Nottingham music scene but has also reduced social problems on the streets. If the studios were forced to close down then it could have a double negative impact, triggering a rise in social problems in the area and damaging the future of Nottingham music! It was CRS that first introduced as to artists such as 2TONE, NINA SMITH and KIRK SPENCER, indeed Nina was the first ever Nusic live guest back in Jan 2008! At the time she was being mentored by CRS Head Honcho Trevor Rose.

Mr Blacc has been previously referred to as Robin Hood figure (appropriately!) in the music industry, using his own success to help those less fortunate. A warm hearted musician who has faith in the power of music to improve peoples lives.

Mr Blacc is a big believer in the community project and will talk to the young people of St Ann’s about the hopes of finding funding for the studios and spreading optimism about the studios future.

The American soul singer/rapper’s most famous song, “I Need A Dollar” reached number one last year and has had nearly 18 million views on YouTube. ALOE BLACC will swing by the studios on Monday before his gig at Rock City, (tickets still available, click here.) He will be in the building from 1pm and will talk to aspiring Notts musicians about the experiences that have confronted him on his way to stardom with the chance for a question and answer session and also some of the best talent will be able to showcase some of their music to Mr Blacc.

So a world famous superstar supporting the up and coming talent of the Notts music scene, can only be a good thing for the future of Nottingham music right?

If you fancy supporting a fantastic Nottingham project plus getting the chance to interact with a world famous musician, get yourself down to Lowdham Street, St Ann’s for 1pm on Monday the 5th of December.

For more details on the event check out the CRS Facebook page here.

Yours in Love of Notts Music

Tom Hadfield x

International superstar ALOE BLACC plus former BBC Radio 1Xtra DJ SARAH LUV will be gracing CRS Studios in St Ann’s on Monday!
