Here are your three essential gigs for this week&#8230;<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong>GIG ONE<\/strong><br \/>\n<br \/>\nThe monthly <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/#!\/events\/295621657150971\/\">WIRE &#038; WOOL<\/a> <\/strong>at <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/93728581496\/?ref=ts#!\/pages\/The-Alley-Cafe-Bar\/215741345167534\">THE ALLEYCAFE<\/a><\/strong> on Thursday 2nd of February looks to be all that we\u2019ve come to expect of it and more.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nIn a night that promises to bring electric sounds and techno beats <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/#!\/pages\/Adam-Peter-Smith\/98262199923\">ADAM PETER SMITH<\/a> <\/strong>kicks off the event with his harmonious voice. Fans of <strong>NEWTON FAULKNER<\/strong> and <strong>PAOLO NUTINI<\/strong> will be blown away by a voice which is popping up all across the area.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nWhether you\u2019ve listened to Nottingham\u2019s hillbilly funk band <strong>GRAIN<\/strong> or not, it\u2019s safe to say that former member <strong>MR Y<\/strong> should not be missed &#8211; if only because he\u2019s taken time out of his Swedish goat-herding career especially for this night!<br \/>\n<br \/>\nHe may only be one man but he can make a whole spectrum of sounds. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/\u200brainbowdown?sk=app_18222230\u200b5144028\">RAINBOW DOWN<\/a><\/strong> is one of Nottingham\u2019s most eclectic artists with a range of genres just as diverse as the night itself.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nThe final Nottingham act to step up will be <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/search\/results.php?q=mr%20y&#038;type=pages&#038;init=quick&#038;tas=0.9555548189551555#!\/junkiekut\">JUNKIE KUT<\/a><\/strong>. His extreme speedcore techno is definitely going to keep the crowd alive, and if that doesn\u2019t shake you to your very core then his hardcore punk rock crossovers will. With an appetite for all sorts of sounds the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/93728581496\/?ref=ts#!\/pages\/The-Alley-Cafe-Bar\/215741345167534\">ALLEYCAFE<\/a><\/strong> is the place to be on Thursday night.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nDOORS: 8.30PM<br \/>\nTICKETS: FREE!<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong>GIG TWO<\/strong><br \/>\n<br \/>\nTypically we\u2019ve not mentioned <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/93728581496\/\"><strong>THE OLD ANGEL INN<\/strong><\/a> for a few weeks now, then two great gigs come at once! Packed full of juicy Nottingham talent, the first gig on Friday 3rd of February has got something for everyone.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/93728581496\/#!\/pages\/SkullFunk\/128433327398\"><strong>SKULLFUNK&#8217;S<\/strong><\/a> blend of groovy metal was built to get you moving. Your body will be involuntarily convulsing from the funk bass coupled with the heavy guitar rhythms, and the powerful vocals of <strong>GAVIN CRAYSMITH <\/strong>make <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/93728581496\/#!\/pages\/SkullFunk\/128433327398\">SKULLFUNK<\/a><\/strong> a new band to keep a very close eye on.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nFor anyone who spent hours having flute lessons at school, listening to the guitarists and drummers talking of how their next band would conquer the world, come along and see <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/93728581496\/#!\/pages\/Timestealers\/216149158435762\">TIMESTEALERS<\/a><\/strong>\u2019 flautist <strong>JESSICA RUBIO<\/strong> prove that the flute is the icing on the cake. Everyone band should have one. If you have no such flute-based angst then come along anyway and experience the magical <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/93728581496\/#!\/pages\/Timestealers\/216149158435762\">TIMESTEALERS<\/a><\/strong> gypsy-latin pop.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nWhen you listen to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/93728581496\/#!\/groups\/2221384633\/\">OUR LAST CONFESSION<\/a><\/strong> you may find yourself saying, \u201cthey sound like&#8230;\u201d followed moments later by, \u201coh and like&#8230;\u201d. Don\u2019t be afraid, you\u2019ve not gone insane. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/93728581496\/#!\/groups\/2221384633\/\">OUR LAST CONFESSION<\/a><\/strong> may have been influenced by a variety of other bands but the result is a top class musical experience that may very well one day lead to, \u201cthey sound like <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/93728581496\/#!\/groups\/2221384633\/\">OUR LAST CONFESSION<\/a><\/strong>\u201d.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nLet\u2019s face it, it couldn\u2019t be much more cold and dark outside so step into the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/93728581496\/#!\/groups\/93728581496\/\"><strong>OLD ANGEL<\/strong><\/a> and warm up to \u2018Hell\u2019s house band\u2019 that is <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/93728581496\/#!\/pages\/Trioxin-Cherry\/74730527988\">TRIOXIN CHERRY<\/a><\/strong>. The trio are making big waves with their punk surf rock \u2018n\u2019 roll sound. With female vocals that will haunt you (in a good way) and an atmosphere that the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/93728581496\/?ref=ts\">OLD ANGEL<\/a><\/strong> was made for, the night\u2019s musical exploits are set for a fantastic crescendo.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nDOORS: 7.30PM<br \/>\nTICKETS: \u00a32<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong>GIG THREE<\/strong><br \/>\n<br \/>\nA trio of Nottingham&#8217;s very own are supporting (or surrounding!) <strong>OUR TIME DOWN<\/strong> here at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/93728581496\/?ref=ts\"><strong>THE OLD ANGEL INN&#8217;S<\/strong><\/a> post-hardcore night on Saturday 4th of February.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/93728581496\/?ref=ts#!\/FreshEyesfortheDeadGuy\">FRESH EYES FOR THE DEAD GUY<\/a><\/strong> bring their punk sounds to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/93728581496\/?ref=ts\"><strong>OLD ANGEL<\/strong><\/a>. The quartet recently blogged the answer to an age old question of why they so frequently shed their shirts mid-set, it&#8217;s all about comfort they say. Aside from the possibility of seeing some sweaty naked man flesh, they&#8217;re also hinting at throwing out some new tracks. A must see!<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/93728581496\/?ref=ts#!\/thanksalaska\">THANKS, ALASKA<\/a><\/strong>! certainly don\u2019t share the serenity of their namesake state, but they possess just as many natural resources.
